Elemental Microanalysis
Sulphur Elemental Analysis
Sulphur is analysed by combustion analysis using a Thermo EA1108 or FlashEA1112 series elemental analyser, and we provide sulphur elemental analysis.
Sulphur elemental analysis is a useful counterpart to other elemental analysis, such as C, H & N and is available for most sample types. A same-day service can be arranged for particularly urgent samples and our normal turnaround time is within two working days.
CHN Elemental Analysis
CHN elemental analysis is performed by effective ignition and use of other analytic equipment.
CHN elemental analysis is a cost-effective means of establishing sample purity on a wide range of sample types from volatiles to polymers. It is an essential tool in sample characterisation when used in conjunction with other techniques. Same-day sample turnaround is available for extremely urgent requests although most results are reported within two working days.
Oxygen Elemental Analysis
Oxygen elemental analysis is performed in much the same way using similar analytical equipment.
Oxygen elemental analysis can be carried out on most organic compounds although those containing quantities of fluorine can interfere with the process. Our normal turnaround time for oxygen analysis is within two working days but shorter turnaround times can be arranged for extremely urgent samples..
Halogens
Three halogens analysed by means of Schöniger flask combustion are chlorine, bromine, iodine. Fluorine is another halogen combusted in this way and succeeded by titration or ion chromatography. This proves an excellent method for assessing sample purity. We have variable terms and conditions for sample sizes.
ICP-OES
Our Varian Vista MPX ICP-OES system uses the latest technology and software to supply high detection methods analysing metals and non metals
We believe the right path to metals analysis is efficient sample preparation, and the ICP-OES system provides us with this efficiency. We have years of experience in a variety of techniques and digestion processes.
ION Chromatography
A diversity of anions may be studied by ion chromatography. Common anions such as sulphate can be examined. In addition ion chromatography is a powerful method of use in the determination of fluoride anions.
Air Sensitive Samples
Air-sensitive substrates and hygroscopic samples are no challenge to our company. Samples are carefully handled under a dry Argon atmosphere. Using this technique, air sensitive samples can be analysed for C, H & N, S, P, halogens and metals.
Other Services
Medac has built up a network of other services to meet the demands and requirements of our customers. We carry out sample ashing and have a sample submission form and periodic table available to download. Our other services also include mass spectroscopy and high field NMR.
