Booster Cushion Theatre for Children was formed 22 years ago and has presented more than 4000 performances to nearly half a million people. We have presented comical dramas for children in all sorts of locations. As a touring theatre company we have worked in theatres in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England and various venues in the Shetlands, The Isle of Iona, The Isle of Wight, The Isle of Man and the Isle of Dogs in the rain under a railway arch to 5 people! Our kids entertainer has worked with big audiences in Bristol Old Vic (500+), out side in Regents Park London, with elephants in London Zoo and even children in schools, libraries and domestic parties.

Red Riding Hood is a comedy for kids. This original show presents a mixture of fairy tales that get all mixed up by Red Riding Hood’s Friend. This is a fast physical show using mime and colourful props with references to many well known tales and is very adaptable. Booster Cushion Theatre for Children are totally untraditional children's entertainers that can also incorporate themes of your choice. For example we have done a Smurff themed and Viking version of Erik the Red Riding Hood. This comedy can be performed inside or outside. Please call to discuss your ideas.

If you go down to the woods today be sure to go is in disguise. If you go down to the woods today your in for a big surprise. In this show for children the story is disguised into the skies with an ARK appearing before your eyes. Big Goldilocks and the 3 Bears Plus… is a children’s entertainment that features a 6’ tall book, telescopic to 2.5m. Some children participate by wearing animal hats/gloves and making noises. Goldilocks guides the children in singing the ‘Animals went in two by toos’ all the way to four by four and then we met the seven bears at the door….. No animals are harmed in this dramatic production.

Old McDonalds farm hand, Alistair, is here as a kids entertainer to show everyone the farm. While farming we find a barn and gather a harvest from the fields to fill it. There is no space left for the animals and the children in the audience are chosen to look after them. The fields are on large pages of a big pop up book that concertina’s open to be 4m wide as well as 2.3m tall. A child is chosen to work with pigs and helps them survive the wolf's visits. Only straw and stick houses are damaged in this show for children and the wolf is tricked away.

This a super kid’s party show as it features a party. Alice has got stuck at the Mad Hatters tea party and has turned into a troll. Her brother Alan goes to rescue her with the help of a few kids from the audience (mostly tea drinkers) and some goats. This touring drama is a theatrical education in how wrong a story can go and is great for children’s entertainment as it is very colourful and packed with surprises. This retold story features an old fashioned looking book that turns into a table and then a bridge.

Hansel & Gretal are lost in the Big World Wood and are looking for food to take home. This travelling drama has forest animals help them survive, show them how to get fit and train them up to visit the Candy House. This children’s show features Cup Cakes, a Big Book shaped like a box and a special Olympic trainer called ‘The Ginger Bread Man’. During this show our non-traditional children’s entertainer gets the children to pretend to be the forest creatures and mime a variety of sports. There is also a relay race for the whole audience; you’ll be pleased to know they will all remain seated, just like a school assembly!
