Mild & Stainless Steel Fabrication
Established over 50 years ago, The Brook Welding Co Ltd has built a nation-wide reputation for producing high quality fabrications in mild & stainless steel, using MIG/MAG & MMA welding. Through the years the company has succesfully fulfilled the needs of the machine tool, chemical construction, power generation and nuclear engineering industries, meeting their special requirements of both tolerance and finish. We pride ourselves on our technical know-how and experienced workforce, which together with our welding equipment and handling capacity, enables us to produce fabrications of every type and size up to a maximum weight of 60 tonnes.
Machining
Our machine shop can handle even the larger fabrications that customers require, and to a high level of tolerance. Our fully CNC Gantry Milling Machine has the capacity to cope with 20 tonnes in weight and 7M in length x 3.1M in width x 2M in height, all in one setting and is situated in a 6,000 sq. ft machine shop. The maximum Fabrication size is 7.6M x (3.5M wide gantry) x 2.5M (under tool). This machine is fitted with a Beaver 5 Face Mark 2 Milling Head, 72 position tool changer and operated by an 11mm Fanuc Controller. Our other machines are a Union 130 Horizontal Borer with a maximum Fabrication size of 2.6M long x 2M high x 2M wide, a Union 80 Horizontal Borer with a maximum fabrication size of 1.5M long x 1.25M high x 1M wide. Finally an Asquith Radial Driller with a bed size of 3 x 1.2M and a maximum swing of 2.4M completes the machine shop setup.
Thermal Stress Relief
Brook Welding's in-house electric powered stress relieving oven has the capacity to cope with fabrications of all grades & types upto 6.2M long x 2.6M wide x 1.8M high x 15 tonne in weight. We fire 5 nights a week & even weekends for long soak items or customer specific projects. Our oven is fully calibrated & for each ‘furnace batch’, We can supply a stress relieving chart to cover the cycle. The oven is generally conducted in accordance with BS 5500.
