The Company has a particular expertise in bridge construction, repair and maintanance projects, whether part of a busy motorway interchange, a rural canal setting or enviromentally sensitive river location.

Our experience and flexibility enables the company to take on unusual one-off projects such as a snow slope, kids-zone tennis court and temporary propping of unsafe structures.

Our building service has similarly undertaken extensive quality workings to historic and listed buildings, refurbishments to tower blocks as well as schools and car parks

The company carries out construction and maintenance of bridges, culverts, and retaining walls, under framework contracts in Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and Walsall as well as individual contracts for many local authorities throughout the Midlands area.

Recent projects include a total bridge replacement over a canal and two bridge strengthening contracts for Sandwell MBC, two bridge strengthening projects and a culvert replacement for the City of Stoke on Trent.

For over 40 years the company has been in the forefront of repairs to structural concrete, particularly with flowable materials, starting with the initial development alongside a major manufacturer and continuing with application of improved materials as they came to more general use.

Projects completed have included repairs to elevated motorway structures on the Midlands Motorways using very strict limits on sequences of repairs enabling the motorways to remain in operation throughout the repair work. Other structures have been repaired using these materials which in the past would have been demolished and reconstructed.

An integral part of the company’s activities is specialist work on the maintenance and reconstruction of historic structures including the external fabric of buildings, retaining walls and bridges and tunnels. Materials used include stone, brick, steel, and cast iron, much of which needs to be constructed or replaced with similar or completely matching materials which are no longer locally available and have to be sourced from quite different locations to the original building or structure.

The company is involved in civil engineering and building work within the rail industry, including station upgrades, lift shafts, and structural improvements. Much of this work is carried out during short closures of the rail track and involves closely planned and executed work packages.

The construction of footpaths and cycle ways for such organisations as Sustrans involves converting redundant mineral and branch rail tracks for walkers and cyclists providing safer access to both city and country areas. This adds an expanding aspect to the company activity.
