Working to your engineering drawings we cut, form, assemble and weld to create exactly what you want. We pay particular attention to our welding quality and have a comprehensive library of welding procedures with the majority of metal workers coded to some degree in either MIG/MAG or TIG to BS EN287, ASME IX and AWS standards.

DSM manufactures products for some of the worlds leading engineering companies within the power generation, oil and gas industries. As a specialist area of expertise fabrications in this sector make up a substantial percentage of our turnover. Our experience in this type of fabrication gives us the ability to reply to enquiries quickly and reduce fabrication lead times considerably.

A field in which we are highly experienced is the manufacture of industrial silencing equipment.

Our newest and most niche market is what we call our 'scientific' one.

After stringent assessment we have supplied metal products for some of the worlds leading scientific facilities. This includes a 37 ton enclosure for containing neutrons at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and a stainless steel 'detector basket' to be used at CERN then on the T2K experiment in Japan.

We also provide stainless steel fabrications for use in nuclear facilities nationwide.

Although we have the ability to provide structural steel fabrication and structural steelwork, we normally refer all enquiries or subcontract relevant work to our sister company, Birtley Construction. Originally catering for the ship repair industry on the River Tyne, we have, and are continually evolving to suit our customer’s needs. Our adaptability means these customers are now more varied ranging from local authorities to high profile multinationals.
