Sprinkler Systems

Newflame are pleased to announce that we can now offer fire engineering solutions on fire sprinkler systems residential & domestic systems and Dry and Wet Risers for high rise buildings.

Newflame becomes an Amerex supplier

Newflame has recently joined in partnership with Amerex to obtain distribution rights in the Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire areas, for the 'famous' range of Amerex fire extinguishers to compliment it's existing ranges of Gloria and Total fire extinguishers.

Wet fire Extinguishers

Amerex has been producing high quality fire fighting products for over 35 years and are recognised as leaders in their field. All 'wet' extinguishers in the range use stainless steel bodies and 100% (brass & stainless steel) metal valves.

The use of stainless steel bodies reduces the total extinguisher weight, eliminates the need for an internal liner and makes them extremely resistant to corrosion. All fire extinguishers in the range come with a manufacturer's 10-year limited warranty.
One of the latest additions to the range is an innovative 9 Litre Water Mist stored pressure extinguisher. During operation it discharges a very fine water mist which is the ultimate extinguisher for fighting fires involving flammable solids; especially where a potential electrical hazard exists. The fine spray from the unique misting nozzle provides safety from electrical shock, greatly enhances the cooling and soaking characteristics of the media and reduces the scattering of burning materials.

Unequivocally the best fire extinguisher for hospital environments, telecommunications facilities and 'clean room' manufacturing facilities

Fire Extinguisher Specialists

Choosing the right fire extinguisher could be a matter of life and death, and choosing the best for the job depends on your understanding of fire extinguisher markings.

Each type of fire extinguishers should clearly marked with:

The British Standards Institute or BSI standard of BS EN3
a BS (BSI) Kitemark, indicating BAFE (British Approval for Fire Equipment) approval
a CE stamp

The combination of these marks ensures that your business fire extinguisher complies with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and is also BAFE (British Approval for Fire Equipment) approved.

In the UK, fire extinguishers are also colour-coded so you can easily pick the right extinguisher for the right type of fire emergency.

Water Extinguishers

Water Extinguishers are suitable for class A fires caused by the combustion of solid materials, mainly of organic origin, such as: wood, paper, straw, textiles, coal etc.

Water Fire Extinguishers With Additives

The additives make the extinguisher more effective, so the unit will have a higher rating than traditional types, in a smaller casing. Red in colour, these extinguishers are smaller and lighter than standard water extinguishers, making them easier to handle. The additive removes water surface tension and makes the water 'wetter' or 'stickier' on the burning material. These types of extinguisher also have a special 'spray nozzle' that atomises water, so they can be used near (but not on) small electrical items such as office equipment.

Foam (AFFF) Fire Extinguishers

This is the most popular type of fire extinguisher for modern offices. AFFF stands for aqueous film-forming foam, pronounced A-triple-F. Foam extinguishers should be used on flammable liquid fires or burning materials. Red with cream-topped labels, the foam from these extinguishers not only works to extinguish the flames, but also seals in any harmful vapours.

'Foam spray' extinguishers feature a special spray nozzle as mentioned above, so a 6 litre AFFF usually has the same rating as a 9 litre water. Newflame also offer 'branchpipe' models just for flammable liquid fires, with no A rating

Powder Extinguishers

Dry Powder Fire Extinguishers are recommended for mixed fire environments because they cover type A, type B and type C fires including flammable liquids and flammable gases.
