Fire Safety Training
Since the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 businesses have been given greater responsibility for their own fire safety. The most cost effective way of dispensing with these responsibilities for fire safety is often to train internal staff.
Our trainers are experts in their field and are all ex- Fire and Rescue Service training providers. Each has vast operational experience and has been trained by the Fire Service College, which is backed up by further qualifications from NEBOSH and The Institute of Fire Engineers. Our training is offered as in house and can be provided at your location or, where there is no live fire training, at our training centre in Greater Manchester.
Fire safety training should be especially relevant to your employees and all of our fire training courses can be fully customised to reflect your fire safety provisions and procedures. If you have a high turnover of staff and a need to run regular fire safety training it may be cost effective to train your own staff to deliver internal induction training. If so, we can help with this too.
If your organisation needs fire wardens or fire marshals they will need to be trained so that they can perform their tasks effectively. Our fire marshal training course gives delegates an in depth understanding of their responsibilities and what they can expect to happen in the event of a fire.
All organisations must carryout a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment it must be recorded where there are 5 or more employees and it must be reviewed regularly. In small organisations, where there is a low risk of fire and the likely consequences are low too, employing an external fire risk assessor may be excessive in terms of both cost and effort. For such circumstances we provide fire risk assessor training.
Do you provide fire extinguishers at your place of work? If you do, is there anyone in your workplace trained on how to use them safely. ISO 9001
By effectively implementing ISO 9001:2008, companies will adopt the systems and procedures that ensure greater consistency of performance, improved working practices, and also make the company’s products and services more customer focused. All of which leads to improved customer satisfaction and ultimately, increased success and profitability.
The ISO 9001Quality Management System is as relevant for the smallest of businesses as it is for the largest international organisations. Included within the benefits you’ll enjoy are a clear understanding of your policies and objectives, plus an improved perception of customer needs. It will also enhance communications both internally and externally. ISO 9001 will help you understand your statutory and regulatory obligations, whilst at the same time it will clearly define responsibilities, reduce waste, improve consistency and traceability, and generally raise the morale and motivation of your employees.
If you already have certification to the Quality Management standard but you aren’t realising these benefits then something is missing. That is why we work only with UKAS accredited certification bodies. This is the best way to ensure that you and your customers are getting the most from your certification. Remember, it is the application of the standard and not the certificate on the wall that reaps the rewards. Those subscribing to the standard for the sake of a certificate are buying a very expensive piece of paper.
If you are looking to implement any ISO standards then the ISO 9001 Quality Management standard is the place to start. It provides the core of your management systems and integrates seamlessly with all of the ISO and OHSAS standards.
Our BSi ACP and SGS registered consultants can advise and guide you along the route to attaining ISO 9001 Quality Management certification by UKAS Accredited Registration Bodies and can also provide Quality Management Internal Auditor Training and Lead Auditor Training to help you manage your own Management Systems.
ISO 14001
This, the environmental management standard is appropriate for all types and size of businesses, and with ever-greater awareness and concern for environmental issues, more and more organisations are now insisting that their suppliers are ISO 14001 certified. Without this accreditation you will undoubtedly be excluded from competing for an increasing number of business opportunities. Among the other benefits your business will enjoy are: economies through waste reduction, the avoidance of penalties and fines, plus reduced costs through improved risk management. In addition, employee responsibilities will be clarified, customer confidence will be raised and by demonstrating an innovative and progressive outlook, your professional and public perception will be raised along with your perceived company profile.
ISO 14001 integrates seamlessly with ISO 9001, other ISO standards and OHSAS 18001, which greatly reduces the potential burden of implementing all of these standards. Contact one of our specialist consultants to discuss your needs, to get answers to your questions or to arrange a free initial consultation.
OHSAS 18001
The OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety Management standard relates to the management of Health and Safety in the workplace. It is structured to integrate seamlessly with other standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Because no organisation is exempt from Health and Safety legislation, it doesn’t matter what size your own business is, it could benefit from implementing the range of disciplines that the OHSAS 18001 standard imposes. By incorporating these standards into your business you will greatly reduce the potential for accidents, help to control risks, improve legislative compliance and enhance your overall Health & Safety performance. At the same time, the sensible procedures and good practice that OHSAS 18001 integrates into your operation will help you avoid litigation, fines, penalties and even imprisonment. Your performance and cost-effectiveness will improve and with more and more companies now requiring proof that their suppliers operate in a safe and competent manner, OHSAS 18001 can afford you an invaluable competitive edge.
Our specialist OHSAS 18001 consultants can help you to realise all of the benefits of good health and safety management. Contact our office to arrange your free of charge initial consultation.
