tachometers, revolution counters
Tachometers
Foundrometers Intrumentation Ltd have been manufacturing tachometers and rotational speed indicating and control instruments since 1916.
We are one of the few companies worldwide that offers all engineering methods of tachometry.
- Mechanical, for readings at the point of mounting.
- Electrical, utilizing tachogenerators and remote mounting analogue indicators.
- Electronic, utilizing sophisticated non contact sensors. Speed control relays and switches.
We also are one of the Worlds largest manufacturers of hand held tachometers and inspection Stroboscopes.
We are happy to manufacture specials specifically to customer requirements, even in small quantities.
Further we will reverse engineer tachometers that you are having difficulty in sourcing.
Whether this is due to the original manufacturer no longer existing or you feel you are not getting the quality of product or service you require.
Renown for our quality of products and service and nearly a 100 year manufacturing history means we must be doing something right.
Quality and Service.
Revolution Counters
Established for nearly 100 years and ISO 9000 approved, we supply blue chip companies and the military worldwide. You will find Foundrometers revolution counters on diesel engines, pumps, traction, printing, packaging, in fact hundreds of applications on a vast array of machinery across the world. When you consider the quality and robustness of our equipment it is not unusual for us to replace revolution counters ( Tachometers ) that we made up to 40 years ago.
We hold records back to the 1930`s such is our commitment to our customers. We do not constantly replace and discontinue. We continually strive to introduce new technologies whilst also striving to improve and support our older technologies.
Eddy Current Tachometers
Foundrometers began manufacturing eddy current tachometers in 1916, and still manufacture eddy current tachometers today.
Throughout this long history the company has manufactured almost every conceivable type. So whatever your requirement the company will most probably have manufactured this in the past.
If not we will have made a very similar instrument which we could modify to your needs very economically.
Electrical Tachometers
Remote speed measurement and indicating equipment permits information on rotary or linear movement to be transmitted to observation points at almost any distance from the measuring point. An installation typically consists of a speed sensor in the form of a tacho-generator in conjunction with one or several indicators; the elements form a self powered system for which no mains supply is required.
Foundrometers manufacture a wide variety of tacho transmitters and indicators plus all mechanical and electrical interface equipment, electrical tachometers, to allow us to tailor full systems to your individual requirements - contact us for your electrical tachometers solution .
Non contact sensors
Foundrometers and Rheintacho offer a comprehensive range of non contact sensors to suit most applications. Our speciality is in providing sensing solutions in demanding applications.
e.g. Sensors which are subject to high pressures and temperatures, also difficult operating environments. Contact Us for your non contact sensors solution.
Tachogenerators
Foundrometers manufacture a wide variety of tachogenerators and tacho alternators. These produce AC or DC signals which can be used to drive analogue indicators or control devices.
Whilst these signaling devices are best suited to Foundrometers indicators and controllers, they can be used to drive any other manufacturers instruments.

Speed Relays
Rotas
There are a variety of Control Modules, speed relays, available, our most recent development is a fully programmable speed controller "ROTAS". The ROTAS can accept a variety of input signals and has many programmable features, such as relay outputs, analogue outputs, startup time delay, all selectable by the operator.
F/I(U)-Converter
Application and Description
The F/I(U)-Converter transforms a frequency signal into a standardised output signal from 0...20mA, 4...20 mA or 0...10VDC. The converter provides the standardised signal control systems. PC based data monitoring, recorders or display instruments. The F/I(U)-Converter series 587 has:
* very good linearity
* high temperature stability
* and especially high long-term stability so that very good reproducibility is attained.
Frequency signals from different speed sensors, encoders or proxmity switches with NPN, PNP, push-pull or TTL output can be processed as well as sinus-shaped signals from passive sensors (magnetic pick-up).

Hand Held Tachometers
Foundrometers tried and tested hand held tachometers record rotational speeds and run lengths. Some of them use a proximity system by shining a light beam on a reflective mark; others use a contact system with special adapters for different applications.
The new hand held tachometers stroboscope measures rotation and vibrations even in the most inaccessible places. No physical intervention is required on the systems to be tested.
Hand held Stroboscope
The rolux hand-held stroboscope is ideal for proximity rotational speed measurement of plants and machinery, as well as for observing moving parts in operation. Adjust the flash sequence so that the object appears stationary to the human eye, and you can then read the speed or frequency of movement from the LCD on the rolux.
It uses xenon technology to produce extremely bright flashes at a reduced power consumption.
The compact design of the rolux hand held stroboscope and its one-hand operation give it the flexibility to be used at poorly accessible locations.
The device registers speeds and oscillation frequencies during operation at poorly accessible or particularly sensitive points. It can also be used to observe fast, recurring sequences of movement. Example applications of the device include observations of fan blade deformation, the position of a toothed belt under load or separation of substances in a centrifuge. These are just a few illustrations of its huge range of uses in this field.
Digital Indicators
Digital panel meters / digital indicators can range from simple display-only types to advanced process controllers.
Practical designs and user-friendly, these digital indicators are manufactured with the application and user in mind. Made to make setup and commissioning quick and easy, even if you are not a frequent user.
All sizes and configurations are catered for. From one off for an end user or large quantities of specifically designed instruments for OEM`s.
Huge variety of options, number of digits, retransmission of signals, various signal inputs, relays etc.
Modern design and continual development ensures instruments that are fit for purpose at realistic prices
