GEFCO UK has recently been recognised by the Institute of Transport Management, for its expertise in Automotive Logistics as it is named ‘Automotive Logistics Supplier 2010’. This is the third time GEFCO has been given this award, having gained the same recognition in 2009 and 2007. The Institute has acknowledged the high quality yet cost-effective service GEFCO provides that is necessary to support its clients in the automotive industry. 

GEFCO has four Automotive Centres in the UK located at: Sheerness, Corby, Sandtoft and Portbury.    

With its modular GefBox System solution, GEFCO offers several types of service enhancement : consolidation and planning, transport, washing, maintenance, packaging rental and more. Equipped with 5 million handling units, GEFCO processes 40 million deliveries throughout Europe each year. 

GefBox System provides a range of services. "FullPack" is a one-stop, high added-value service that lets customers focus on their core business while GEFCO takes care of reusable packaging concerns. GEFCO provides a complete service, from the delivery of containers to suppliers to the collection and maintenance at the customer's plant. GEFCO manages flows and plans future requirements using a dedicated information system.

GefBox System solutions are tailored to each customer’s specific needs. With "FlowPack" and "FleetPack", GEFCO manages all or part of logistics operations concerning containers, whether owned by the customer or not.

GEFCO offers the Automotive industry Pre Delivery Inspections (PDI) and Fleet Preparation Services at all of their sites. GEFCO ensure that all mechanical checks and measures required by manufacturers on new vehicles are met to exacting manufacturer standards for Passenger and Light Commercial Vehicles.

A variety of mechanical, electrical and visual checks are carried out to ensure that GEFCO’s customers receive the high quality vehicle they demand. All vehicles are valeted and processed to the highest standards before handover. Fuel and registration services are available along with unique enhancement and accessory fitments being undertaken as part of the new car preparation process.

GEFCO UK inter-connects with the international platform network for both inbound and outbound road freight services, and benefits from an effective cross dock operation located in Coventry, Midlands. 

GEFCO UK’s regional platforms consisting of six GEFCO locations and are complimented by a further four remote partner sites, that ensure a UK network distribution service extends its 24 hour delivery service to 95% of the major areas. 

GEFCO has a fleet equipped with tail lift vehicles as standard, as well as specialised vehicles for the secure carriage of out of size consignments.

OverseaSolution provides the design and implementation of door-to-door air or sea freight forwarding solutions using a worldwide network of subsidiaries and partners who share the same high standards as GEFCO. 

The GEFCO teams deliver the components required for production at the right time and in the right place worldwide (inbound expertise) and distribute the finished products within the allotted timeframe in all countries (outbound expertise).
