Our approach to this aspect of the work is that the Commissioning Engineer will usually have been a senior member of the Design Team throughout the project life cycle.

Planning Supervisor Service
Construction (design and management) regulations 1994, The construction (design and management) regulations (CDM) represent a concerted effort in the UK and across Europe to reduce the number of accidents that occur on construction sites. Under the regulations, Health and Safety must be considered from project conception through design phases to final completion. This applies to the majority of work undertaken involving site operations, (including demolition and repair or maintenance activities). Clear duties are imposed on all parties involved in the construction process, from client to sub-contractor, (including designers and other professionals), creating the requirement for a planning supervisor.

Role of the client
The client is obliged to appoint a planning supervisor at the project inception. Our planning supervisors have a thorough knowledge of the design and construction process and have been specially trained to carry out the Planning Supervisor role. When appointed, clients will be advised of their responsibilities under CDM and will be assisted in fulfilling these obligations.

Adequate consideration to health and safety during the design phase
Co-operation between designers
The client is advised on the competence and resources of all parties
The project is notified to the Health and Safety Executive
The Pre Tender Health and Safety plan is prepared
Tender responses are evaluated with respect to health and safety
Adequate construction phase health and safety plans are prepared
Progressive development of the system is maintained

We are committed to working in an environment secured by positive health and safety management practices coupled with strong and enthusiastic management techniques. This co-operative and flexible framework realises effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

PROCESS CONTROL
Our process engineers have diverse backgrounds and have experience in both operations and design, allowing them to address all areas of a client's facility from a practical as well as a theoretical perspective. Our in-house Process Control Engineers have experience of most major PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems) systems in developing process automation schemes for specialised areas such as statistical analysis and batch system control schemes.

Due to the hazardous nature of many raw materials, products and processes in the chemicals/oil and gas markets, we have individuals with a broad knowledge base of regulatory requirements, like PSM (Process Safety Management) and COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards). Services include safety audits, HAZAN/HAZOP facilitation, SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments, relief valve verification, and assistance with the necessary application and implementation processes.
