Heartlands embroidery is a diverse tool for branding clothing of almost any type. Covering t-shirts, hoodies, trousers, coats and more, multi and single colour stitching and various placement, we have a wide range of possibilities.

Our clothing embroidery machines are seventeen head units and can run up to 700 stitches per minute, and cap embroidery machines are twelve head units with a 650 stitch per minute capacity. The machines can hold up to seven threads for seven different colours for automatic changeover, but with manual changeover, the number of colours is potentially limitless.

The garments are locked into a brace and clamped into a bench, which moves the garments under the head, instead of moving the head itself. All seventeen machines follow the same pattern, and when running at peak, can produce up to thirty-five single position embroidered garments or caps per hour.

This is a very precise way of placing a design on a product. With this process the resulting colour of the engraved area is dependent on the product material. The laser removes the top surface of the product by focusing the beam on the surface. There are different machines for engraving different types metal, wood and glass. With most of our machines the product remains stationary and the laser moves, either along an x/y axis as a unit or altering the trajectory with a mirror.

Using laser engraving allows complicated patterns being engraved into a surface. It is also possible to cut through certain products completely. The machine has the ability to work in Raster or Vector mode allowing the acceptance of many graphic types.
 

The screen printing process is very simple and is built for medium to large printing runs. It is mainly used for textiles and pens.

A mesh (or screen) is painted in a reactive substance, and the artwork is printed on transparency and placed on the mesh. While in place the screen is then exposed to UV light which hardens the areas which are not covered. This leaves the area under the artwork permeable. The screen is washed and looked over for small errors.

This process is repeated with different shapes to put together multiple colour logos or branding.

After all the screens are made, they are placed on a printing carousel in sequential order with a colour and pattern on each. The machine then rotates and presses a dye across the screen at each point, forcing dye through and onto the textile.

This is a very accurate and reliable was of producing branding in high detail.
 

As much as this is called Crystal Etching it is not restricted to crystal, and is most often used on glass.

A film with your design cut out is wrapped around or laid across your product and fixed. The product is then blasted with sand until all the areas visible through the design etched.

The process can return some interesting designs and looks, and works well on glass awards, bottles, glasses, etc.
 

Transfer printing covers several processes, but are all applied in the same way. All transfers are vinyl, this allows it to attach to the garment when heated and cooled. Vinyl comes in many different forms. Single colour vinyl is used where colours are solid or specific patterns are required (eg. army, sparkly, etc.), and can be cut in intricate designs. Full colour print vinyl starts white and is printed on using specialist printers. The inkjet version is a permanent form of printing full colour images or designs on to a garment, this will last. The digital laser printed versions are for single use, promotional days or materials that do not require washing.

Which ever process is chosen, the next step is heat pressing the image on to the garment or material. The press delivers heats of up to 180 degrees depending on the route taken and seals the graphic to the garment.

Depending on the type of graphic, production of printed garments can be up to 1800 per day.
 

Embossing and Debossing can come in many forms and be delivered on many products via many different techniques.

As an example, Heartlands supplies silicone wristbands which are set in moulds. These moulds can be made to have embossed or debossed detail in text or imagery and in multiple colours.

Debossing can also be the result of laser engraving into many surfaces, by burning away the top layer of a product. This can also be achieved on softer products by a pressure press, stamping the image into the surface.
 

Dye Sublimation or just Sublimation is the process of producing a mirror print of artwork, and heating it while on the product to 200 degrees. At this point the ink turns to gas and is absorbed into the product, creating full colour process prints on the product.

This technique is not available on all products, but can be used on some umbrellas and lanyards. It is mainly used on Mugs and ceramics as the process keeps the vibrancy of the colour throughout the artwork.

'Heat and Reveal' mugs or the 'Wow Mugs' are covered in a heat sensitive material after Dye Sublimation which goes transparent when heated and returns to black as it cools. This allows the image to be revealed underneath when used.
