Using evenly spaced resistance wires laminated between sheets of silicone, wire wound mats are ideal for prototyping or problem solving applications. Manufactured to customer specifications they can be made in a limitless range of shapes and sizes. High flexibility can be obtained using tough, robust silicone materials which are finding ever increasing applications in the industry. Silicone’s wide temperature range, tolerance of -60 to +230 °C and superb electrical properties give it a distinct advantage over other forms of heating.

Applications

Holroyd supply silicone heaters for a multitude of applications including industrial catering, battery warming, environmental control or electronics (particularly telecommunications), composite repair of aircraft, laboratory equipment, satellite dish snow melting, anti-condensation and GRP pipe curing systems. The uses for silicone heater mats are infinite as they can suit any application requiring surface heating up to 230 °C. Their suitability for arduous conditions has been proven in applications from polar expedition to space exploration. We are the final frontier in silicone heaters!

Installation and Fixing
Our self adhesive option is a quick and simple fixing method which provides superb bonding results to many surfaces including low energy materials.

Where removal of the heater is necessary alternative fixings are available such as hooks and straps as well as Velcro and magnetic backed options. Most mechanical fixing methods can be accommodated.

Drum Heaters

The Holroyd range of drum heaters provide a solution for melting or reducing the viscosity of materials or as protection against freezing. The range covers the complete spectrum from low powered, gentle warm-up heater jackets through to high impact, rapid warm-up silicone heater belts and base heaters. Supplied from stock all products are available on a next day service. Bespoke products to customer requirements can be designed and manufactured within just a few days.

HSSD Drum Heaters
The ideal solution to heating products contained in steel drums, the silicone side heater reduces the viscosity of materials such as soaps, fats, foodstuffs, varnishes and chemicals allowing them to be pumped or poured with ease. Products are marked with identification and batch numbers giving full manufacturing traceability. Branding with the client details and logo is available upon request.

HISD Drum Heaters
A simple and effective heating solution for all types of drums, particularly plastic containers as the jacket provides a gentle and efficient heating system. These jackets are ideally suited for the warming of a variety of products including fats, oils and foodstuffs. Used throughout the world by a multitude of industries from pharmaceutical to chemical, cosmetic to food, the HISD heater is the ideal solution for heating liquid materials stored in metal or plastic drums.

HBD Drum Heaters
The HBD heater is specifically designed for melting or reducing the viscosity of soaps, fats, waxes, varnishes and oil based type of products. The diameter of the base enables use on all sizes of drums up to 45 gallons (200L). Heat is provided by a 900W silicone rubber insulated heater mat, providing an even distribution of heat to the base. If a rapid heat up is required or solid mediums are involved requiring higher power input, side drum heaters can be used in conjunction with the HBD; alternatively a thermally insulated jacket can be used.

HIBC/B Heaters
Providing an efficient heating system the HIBC/B jackets are ideal for reducing the viscosity of a variety of products including fats, oils and foodstuffs, to enable the decanting of the product into smaller containers or process lines. Used throughout the world by a multitude of industries from pharmaceutical to chemical, cosmetic to food, the HIBC/B heater is the ideal solution for heating liquid materials stored in intermediate bulk containers.

HTSD
Heaters
The HTSD range of side drum heaters can operate at high temperatures up to 220c. Four standard sizes are available for drums of 25L, 50L, 105L and most commonly the 200L. All four sizes of drum heaters have their own internal insulation ensuring optimum thermal efficiency. HTSD side drum heaters are specifically designed for the melting or reducing the viscosity of products that require higher powers than can be achieved with the HISD type.

Kapton Heaters

Advantages of Kapton Heaters
Polyimide (Kapton™) is a semitransparent, flexible, thin material, ideally suited for the manufacture of etch foil heater mats. With it’s low thermal mass, superb electrical insulating properties and excellent resistance to most chemicals, it allows high power densities with fast and efficient thermal transfer. Being thin and lightweight with a wide temperature range polyimide heaters have a distinct advantage over other forms of heating elements. Where fast response, chemical resistance and a low profile is required polyimide heaters offer the ideal solution.

Applications
Holroyd supply polyimide heaters for many different applications such as industrial catering, battery warming, environmental control or electronics (particularly telecommunications), laboratory equipment and anti-condensation. The uses for polyimide heaters are infinite as they can suit any application requiring surface heating up to 200°C. Their suitability for arduous conditions has been proven in applications from polar expedition to space exploration. We are the final frontier in polyimide heaters!

Pre-formed/ Assemblies

Advantages
Holroyd silicone heaters are suitable for applications where precise and intimate heating is required. Being thin and lightweight, silicone heater mats have a low thermal mass and hence have rapid heat up characteristics and fast response to temperature control. Silicone’s wide operating temperature range of -60 to +230°C and superb electrical properties give it a distinct advantage over other forms of heating. In applications where a heater mat is required to fit small diameter pipe-work a more precise fit can be obtained by using the pre-formed option. Holroyd can form and vulcanise silicone heaters to fit full or partial circumference of any pipe diameter. These heaters can be supplied with separate straps for fixing or can be permanently installed using room temperature vulcanising silicone adhesive or self adhesive systems. Holroyd can provide a factory fitting service for assembly of silicone heaters to customer components using vulcanisation or self adhesive methods. We have many years experience of fitting to complicated pipe-work, plates, tanks and many other forms.
