Single Source
At James Wilson we can offer a complete service, we can manufacture from drawing, take care of treatments and offer a suitable marking solution whether that be machine engraved or laser part marked. We can read almost any file types and offer artwork creating service utilising the latest design software.

We are supplied various control panel doors and proprietary control boxes which we machine and engrave to specification. Some combinations involve machining the component and then manufacturing and engraving a suitable fascia plate in materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, laminate etc.

We also machine and engrave a variety of electrical components – switchplates – single to multi gang, sockets – in plastic or steel, push buttons, fuseboxes etc. Customer supplied cast, fabricated and machined components in all engineering materials and coatings – anodised, zinc plated, and painted are precision engraved and colour filled to applicable specification as required.

We have since established ourselves as a leading supplier to the Aerosapce industry and have naturally amassed an array of state of the art technology which we have used to service many other industries. In addition to machine engraving we have two in house lasers which allow us to utilise laser engraving on almost any material you care to mention.

So what is Laser Marking and Laser Engraving?
Unlike conventional engravers we use an intense beam of light instead of a rotating or vibrating tool, this beam can either vaporise a small area of the surface ( laser engraving ) or cause a change in the colour of the surface of the material ( laser marking ) this beam is controlled by a computer at very high speeds and accuracy to give outstanding quality at a very cost effective price. Almost all materials can be laser engraved / laser marked. Because no inks are used the laser marking services are both permanent and the process is kind to the environment.

With advanced software we can laser engrave practically anything from Bar Codes photographs and company logos. Some times laser marking is referred to as laser etching, unlike conventional etching, laser etching needs no masks or chemicals, Laser etching gives a better quality finish as there is never any bleed out and the marking is more permanent. Laser engraving can be used for most of the jobs currently being carried out by conventional industrial engravers.

Mattblack can offer most grades and Thicknesses of Material. Finishing processes include matt and glossy combinations, selective lacquering, screen and digital printing. Variable information can also be incorporated, such as sequential serial numbering and barcodes. Precision cutting equipment enables production to close tolerances, achieved when appropriate with purpose made tools.

Artwork
