Carrs Welding Technologies Ltd, are laser welding specialists. Now with 9 different laser welding systems, Carrs can solve problems in industry where metal is missing or simply weld components together. 4 laser welders are repairing tools and machine components or even fire-arms. The other 5 laser welders  are welding precision assemblies together from 0.1 mm accuracy's up to 10 mm thick.

Our customer list comprises a varying degree of blue chip clients including; MK Electric, Nissan Manufacturing UK, Muirhead Aerospace, RPC Containers, TRW, Philips, and a multitude of 2nd and 3rd tier suppliers in all manufacturing areas.

The high precision and quality of welding in the Aerospace industry is paramount to the success of many components. The repeatability of the laser welding whether pulsed or continuous wave is so high that the “black art“, has been taken out of the process. Low heat input and ease of welding high grades of stainless steel or titanium gives the laser the great reputation that it deserves.

• Small assemblies can be rotated and welded together with a filler wire or straight autogenous.
• Seam welds can be done on the robot and programmed in for repeatability and high quality.

Laser welding was made for electronic components, and is the single biggest user of Lasers in the world. Carrs have welded prototype semi-conductors for I.R and have welded small production runs of batteries for Motorola. Copper and aluminium are welded easily and cleanly with the Laser and although it makes both materials soft in the process, joint design can make up for any lack of material. For example if a wire connection is to be welded, allowing excess wire through the connection will leave a domed welded connection. The bigger the dome required, the more you stick through the hole.
