Owned and operated by brothers Denis Lavery & Anton Lavery, Atlas possess extensive industry experience. Denis oversees the head office and main yard in Scotland with emphasis on hydraulic winches, diesel, electric, air and trailer winches. Hydraulic winches for mooring and load-out applications is a particular area of expertise. Anton manages the Southern office with a greater focus on trailer winches, cable drum trailers and various other cabling accessories for the utilities industries.

Over the years, Atlas have been renowned for the hire and sale of 4/6 and 8 point mooring systems for crane and excavator barges, offshore supply and survey vessels. A mooring system describes a set of components:- winches, power packs, wires/ropes, fairleads, anchors and buoys used to confine a barge or vessel to a specific location and to hold it on station within defined limits. This location can be in open water or along side a harbour quay or jetty. The mooring system could range from a simple single rope or wire holding a small boat to a buoy, through to an 8 winch system using large wires and anchors to keep a barge or tanker in position.

Chain or Wire Rope Hoists can be supplied and hired in most configurations and power options including Pneumatic, Electric and Hydraulic.
