At Lonsdale, we have a highly-skilled workforce including press tool makers with extensive experience in the design, production and testing of tools. Our press tool makers specialise particularly in complex multi-stage progression tools. Our impressive facilities enable us to handle tools up to around 2m x 1m.

We are part of the Greenwood Engineering Ltd company. This gives us access to a well-equipped press shop suitable for testing and sampling tools. We provide a fanstastic range of services including repairing, refurbishing and modifying press tooling.

Our precision engineering uses a selection of CNC and conventional machine tools. Our team of highly skilled engineers produce an assortment of high quality components to meet individual specifications in one-offs and small or medium batches. We use precision engineering to produce components for use in a large variety of industry sectors. 

We were one of the first companies in the North West to invest in its own modern wire EDM facility. We have a wealth of experience enabling us to use wire EDM cutting techniques for wide variety of applications.

We manufacture a whole assortment of jigs and fixtures from simple clamping fixtures to complex robotics components. We will produce whatever jigs and fixtures you require using detailed manufacturing drawings or, more often, from a doodle on the back of the proverbial cigarette packet.

We use in-house CAD design facilities to convert your doodle into an engineering drawing for manufacture. We work closely with a local design consultancy for more complex designs.

Not only do we work from a customer’s drawings, we pride ourselves in our ability to work with our customers to develop the best methods of fulfilling their needs using CAD design.

Our staff are qualified in welding mild and stainless steel and aluminium. Our machining capabilities enable us to produce pressed components and light assemblies.
