With almost 60 years experience in the manufacture of Precision Investment Castings, P.I. Castings Ltd have the expertise and facilities to produce high integrity investment castings for virtually all applications - industrial machines, general engineering, medical, electronics, aerospace and defence.

Castings are produced in low, medium or high quantities, with dimensions up to 600 mm in a wide range of metals including:-

Investment casting gives a wider freedom of design than most other metal forming techniques. The following guidelines will enable the optimum advantages to be gained from this process - but please call our experts in at the earliest possible design stage, so that we can work together and advise on how the design options may affect techniques and economics.

For development purposes we can produce wax models for design discussions or cast metal prototypes using our own Rapid Prototyping machine.

P. I. Castings Ltd is a leader in the production of cast metal Rapid Prototypes having been involved for 20 years since the first stereolithography machine arrived in Europe. Only a couple of independent investment casting companies in the UK have their own Rapid Prototyping equipment and we are one!

P. I. Castings can take your CAD designs and turn them directly into a pattern, which can be used to produce investment castings in our usual range of metals including aluminium, steel, stainless, brass, bronze, zinc, etc.

Quality castings demand strict production procedures, rigorous quality control and the best inspection facilities – all of which can be found at P.I. Castings, along with a wealth of experience in the production of investment cast components. The established policy of P.I. Castings is to provide products of consistently high quality, fit for their intended purpose and delivered in conformance with the agreed specifications.

The company participates in national development work on techniques and materials and will continue to invest in new equipment and to employ the latest production methods and Quality Assurance philosophies.

P.I. Castings Ltd have established an on-site machine shop to meet the growing demands for fully finished castings, ready for assembly, including alochroming, threaded inserts and painting.

The machining department is equipped with CNC machining centres, CNC turning and conventional milling, drilling and turning equipment. Kits of parts can be supplied with castings typically being packed into customers’ own preferred and re-useable kit boxes on an agreed scheduling basis.

As no single machine shop can provide every type of machining and finishing to cover the wide range of applications and materials supplied by P.I. Castings Ltd, a range of specialist sub-contractors has been established over the years to support the demands of P.I. Castings’ customers.
