Here are some of the products from the Master Magnets range:

Industrial Magnets

Industrial Magnets can be utilised in many industries for the separation and removal of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Whether you are looking to extract metals for recycling, to achieve a cleaner and more valuable end product or even to protect valuable processing equipment from damaging metal objects, magnetic separators are a cost-effective addition to many of today’s industrial processes.

Magnetic Seperators

There are a wide range of Magnetic Separators available on the market today to solve the ever-increasing amount of industrial separation applications. Whether you are looking to extract metals for recycling, to achieve a cleaner and more valuable end product or even to protect valuable processing equipment from damaging metal objects, magnetic separators are a cost-effective addition to many of today’s industrial processes.

Eddy Current Separators

The Eddy Current Separator (ECS) is an advanced non-ferrous separator that is capable of separating domestic and industrial waste into two individual containers, separating non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and copper from non-metallic materials such as wood and plastics.

The Master Magnets range of ECS units consists of 3 models, all of which differ in their separation capabilities to ensure that the most cost effective solution is always applied to a customers’ specific application.

High Intensity ECS Units

The High Intensity ECS units are specifically designed to handle the separation of small and difficult particles, which require high repulsive forces for an accurate separation.

ECS ‘R’ Type

Many ECS applications involve high throughput capabilities that can only be handled by the large High Intensity units due to their belt widths. If however, these applications do not require the separation capabilities of the larger, high specification units, then purchasing a machine of this type for its belt width alone would not be cost effective.

To eliminate this problem, Master Magnets designed the ECS ‘R’ Type. The new ‘R’ Type fits into the range between the Can Sorter and the High Intensity units, incorporating features of both machines.

The Can Sorter

The Can Sorter is specifically designed for the separation of non-ferrous beverage cans from dry recyclables. Can Sorters are low-cost alternatives to larger Eddy Current units for customers that have simple can sorting applications which will not require high specification machines. Non-ferrous separators usually have variable rotor and belt speed adjustments which can be set to suit your application but with a ‘Can Sorter’, these variables are already pre-set for optimum can separation, making sure that customers always get the most out of their machine.

Overband Magnets

The Master Mag Overband Separators are renowned around the world as the most effective units for the continuous removal of tramp metal/ferrous material from a product stream. This type of magnetic separator is used to protect, clean and separate materials on applications mainly in the recycling and quarrying industries.

Most commonly used on mobile crushing machinery, Overbelt magnets are self-cleaning, so that no manual cleaning is required and downtime for the end user is reduced to a minimum.

The Master Magnets range of Overbands also includes the heavy-duty Electro-Overband Separator capable of extracting much smaller ferrous particles that may also be buried in much deeper burden depths.

Suspension Magnets

Master Magnets have increased their range of Suspension Magnets over the years to cater for the ever-increasing size of conveyors, deeper troughing and conveyor speeds. Master Magnets can offer customers two types of Suspension Magnet. The units are available as either Electro or Permanent magnets, dependant on specific applicational details.

Suspension Magnets are specifically designed for the extraction of occasional tramp iron from a product stream being conveyed by a conveyor belt or vibratory feeder. The magnet is generally suspended above a conveyor with sling chains setting the magnet face at the correct angle for optimum extraction. An Electro Suspension Magnet is repositioned away from the conveyor and de-energised for cleaning. A Permanent Suspension Magnet can be suspended from a travelling trolley so that it can be moved away from the conveyor to be manually cleaned.

Drum Magnets

Master Mag Drum Separators are used where there is a high throughput of material to be separated and where the process of separation is likely to prove too abrasive for an Overband or similar separators. Drum separators are available up to 1.8m diameter in a range of widths to provide a larger operating surface, increasing the amount of through put that can be processed. Drums can either have an internal permanent or Electro magnet system depending on the application.

Permanent Drums Separators are used in smaller scale applications (i.e. agriculture industry would use a totally enclosed drum separator for metal contamination protection in the feed of grain). The permanent magnets are built either using ferrite magnets or rare earth super strength magnets depending on the application.

Electro Drum Separators are typically used in heavy-duty applications such as car shredding plants, slag recovery plants, waste incinerators and similar applications to continuously remove ferrous metals from a product stream. As well as being able to process much higher throughputs than Permanent Drums due to their larger Drum diameter, Electro-magnetic Drums are also capable of achieving a better extraction and will extract ferrous materials in a much wider range of sizes.

Magnetic Pulleys

The Master Magnets Pulley Separators are an easy, reliable solution for the continuous extraction of ferrous metals from a product stream. Magnetic pulley separators are installed as a replacement head pulley at the discharge end of a conveyor. A non magnetic adjustable diverter plate is installed beneath the pulley to split the ferrous material away from the non-ferrous materials in the product stream.

The 360 degree magnet system ensures that the ferrous materials are discharged behind the centre line of the pulley.

The Master Magnets Magnetic Head Pulleys are custom built and are available in a wide range of diameters and face widths. The pulley sizes will be recommended based on customer’s installation or application.

The permanent pulley magnets are manufactured using ferrite materials. Rare earth materials can be used when particular applications require removal of finer iron particles. The pulley magnet can also be supplied as an electro magnetic unit for an even better level of extraction. Master Magnets advise each and every customer on the most suitable and cost effective unit for their particular application. In addition to supplying the pulleys, Master Magnets can also supply a complete separator system with conveyors for clients that do not already have a conveyor system on their site.

Magnetic Tubes and Grids

Master Magnets manufacture a range of magnetic tubes and grids, for the removal of fine and general tramp iron to protect a product from metal contamination. Grid magnets are manufactured from ceramic or rare earth magnetic tubes. Most commonly installed into hoppers, chutes and ducts, magnetic tubes and grids are often used for applications in the food processing and ceramics industries.

The grids are available in a range of housings to meet the customer’s individual requirements. Optionally a grid can be constructed with an automatic pneumatic cleaning device to reduce downtime.

Plate Magnets

Plate Magnets are an inexpensive form of magnetic protection against occasional tramp iron contamination. They are usually installed within a chute or over a conveyor for the food and ceramic industry. Plate Magnets are constructed from a magnetic stainless steel casing, having projected magnetic stainless steel poles.

The magnet itself is made from strontium ferrite, providing excellent magnetic separation for standard duties. We can also offer a Plate Magnet made from neodymium iron boron or similar rare earth materials for specialised applications, such as the removal of fine iron from powders. To extract metal from deeper burdens and increased throughput rates Master Magnets can also provide a Dual Deep Field Separator. All Plate Magnets are virtually maintenance free, offering a long service life not affected by wet conditions.
