Bright Spark Precision Engineering has been supplying key players in the Aerospace and Motorsport markets for over 20 years.

Based in East Lancashire, the company operates a production environment manufacturing precision components. Bright Spark originally began life producing jigs and fixtures for the Aerospace Industry.

Bright Spark Precision Engineering later moved into the Motorsport market, producing components for a motorbike rider who went on to become British Champion and later World Super-Bike rider. Since that time, Bright Spark Precision Engineering has prospered almost entirely on word-of-mouth recommendation from customers who recognise quality workmanship.

Aerospace Blade Work

Several personnel within the Merc Group have significant experience in the development of jigs and tooling for the manufacture of blades and stators for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries.

We have also been involved in the production machining of blades and stators. Our state-of-the-art plant and the technical experience of our staff are backed up by modern inspection techniques and machinery, making us the perfect precision engineering partner for companies which supply the Aerospace industry across the UK.

Defence and Avionics

Bright Spark has produced several sub-assemblies for land and air based systems, including tactical screen mounts for defence vehicles and military helicopters. We have also supplied to various wingtip lighting projects for military aircraft including the F-16 fighter, producing housings and heatsinks for safety-critical lighting systems.
 

The quality and finish of Bright Spark's outgoing components puts us in pole position for supplying to scientific and medical companies. We have supplied components and sub-assemblies to a number of laboratory equipment manufacturers and the Merc Group has also supported universities such as Imperial College London in their atomic research programmes.

Bright Spark Precision Engineering is a well established company, having supplied a wide range of aluminium and stainless steel components to Industry leaders for over 20 years. Our extensive manufacturing facility comprises of a wide range of Mazak CNC machines.

In partnership with the Merc Group we can also offer our clients EDM Spark Erosion, Wire Erosion & EDM Fast-Hole Drilling.

Bright Spark Precision Engineering operates a quality system to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 which controls a machine shop that runs on a 3 shift system and includes the latest CNC machines.

This is backed up by computer aided part programming, 3D design and a CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine.

A regular feature of the Company's workload is to engineer difficult, tightly-toleranced components, but the breadth of experience found within the company both at management and shopfloor level, allows Bright Spark to take on all manner of engineering work, with the intention of making life easier for the customer.
