Weland is a family owned company which dates back to 1947 and specialises in the design and manufacture of metal products including grating, staircases, railings, mezzanine floors, gangways, sheet metal work and many more. The company has created an extensive laser profiling facility which houses four laser profile machines, a 130 ton brake press and coded MIG/TIG welding and fabrication services. This equipment enables Weland to offer individual services for profiling, folding and manufacture or an all-inclusive one-stop-shop service for all three.

Weland has seen a consistent growth and also continues to market and supply a range of standard products designed and fabricated in Sweden by the parent and group companies. Full support is provided in the UK across the whole product range. The company is committed to offering the same levels of service and flexibility to all clients regardless of the size of the order.

With three state of the art laser profiling machines,laser cutting is the fast,flexible and cost effective way of producing components from sheet material.The laser concept guarantees first class cutting results,small radii and sharp corners cut efficiently and quickly.
Cutting a wide variety of sheet material in Stainless steel,Mild steel,Aluminium alloys,Nickel alloys,Brass,Titanium,Tread plates,Plastics,Plywood & MDF.
Laser engraving of metal parts to give identification or etch lines for assistance with fabrication is also available. 

Staircases and Railings
Weland produces an enormous selection of staircases and railings to suit a wide range of domestic and commercial applications. The staircases can be manufactured to the client’s specific requirements in virtually any format required. Options include:

Folding gangway steps

• Spiral staircases for interior applications

Stairtreads and Landings
Weland has the capability to manufacture a comprehensive array of stairtreads and landings from grating in a range of standard and alternative materials.

Grating Products
Weland manufactures an enormous array of grating products which are specified for numerous applications. The gratings are manufactured from aluminium, steel or stainless steel and are hot dip galvanised as standard. Options include:

Aluminium Grating: Manufactured with load bearing bars and cross bars as applied for the A-type grating. Standard sizes are 22 x 22mm and 33 x 11mm, other sizes available upon request
Anti-Slip Grating: Ideal for areas where oil spillage or other conditions make a floor slippery. The grating features a serrated top edge for extra grip
 

A-Type Grating: Manufactured from aluminium or stainless steel, A-type grating is available in many sizes and formats to suit general and heavy duty applications
 

Coarse Mesh Grating: Available hot dip galvanised or powder-lacquered, the coarse mesh is ideal for uses such as protective grids, gates, anti-burglary guards, fences, false ceilings, espaliers and display racks
 

Pedestrian Walkway Multipanels: Standard or made-to measure options which are suitable for a wide range of walkway applications in H3 standard mesh, H6 lighter grating and N6 tight mesh
 

Vehicular Multipanels: Used for the easy movement of vehicles, the vehicular panels can be manufactured to individual specification and are fully edged and easy to handle
 

Other Grating Products: Other options include grating mats, floor racks and entrance grating
 

Catladders

Weland stock module system cat ladders and accessories for all types of erection. If for any reason standard products do not suit, we can manufacture special types subject to requirement.

All stock products of steel are hot dip galvanized to offer best possible rust protection. Most products are also available with lacquered surface (lacquered after hot dip galvanizing) in colours black or brick red.
 

Kerb Angle Frames
Weland holds a large range of kerb angle frames in stock which are suitable for pedestrian and vehicular gratings. The frames comprise of angle sections and 3000mm long side sections, which can be cut to size on-site. All the components within the frame are hot dip galvanised, equipped with embedment ties and nail holes.

Plank Type Flooring
Plank type flooring is ideal for applications such as industrial flooring, walkways and entresol floor structures. The system can accommodate span widths of up to 2m and enables supporting beams to be arranged at a wider distance. The plank type flooring weighs 21.8kg/m2 and customary chequered plate with extra supporting weighs 50kg/m2.

Slit Plank Type Flooring
Slit plank type flooring is used for industrial flooring, walkways and treads and features superior anti-slip properties due to the serrated top face and high load bearing capacity.

Gangways
Weland has developed a flexible gangway system, Gangway Type Flex which is made up of stock components and is easily assembled on-site. The stringers are manufactured using cold formed WUC sections in 2, 3 or 4m lengths in widths of between 600 and 1300mm and the floor grating is available in various mesh sizes. The handrails and intermediate rails are manufactured from stainless steel tube. The Gangway Weld Together system features gangways of grating with associated railings which are manufactured in modules for fast and simple erection. The balustrade is provided in loose sections for on-site connection.

Mezzanine
A mezzanine floor allows for the utilisation of the entire volume of a room to create a new floor space. The Weland mezzanine features a cantilever framework from lightweight Sigmabeams which are put together on-site. All components are hot dip galvanised and suitable for internal and external applications. The flooring can be open floor grating with mesh or low weight plank type flooring for a closed surface floor. Staircases and railings are available in a wide range of sizes and styles to suit all applications.

We can also take care of your galvanising,painting,powder coating and anti-corrosion finishes.
