Plastic Fabrication

We start with a wide array of plastic sheet – including acrylic sheet, polyethylene sheet, PVC sheet, PETG sheet, polypropylene sheet, polycarbonate sheet - and convert theses into components and products using our sheet processing technologies.

Our acrylic fabrication services include laser cut acrylic, acrylic bending, moulding and polishing, bonding, and other acrylic machining operations. Typical acrylic components range from simple items such as laser cut discs, lighting diffusers and boat windows to complex acrylic fabrications such as glove boxes and dessicator cabinets.

Our general plastic fabrication services encompass a range of CNC machining technologies including CNC milling and CNC routing.  These, along with our line bending, drape moulding and plastic welding technologies; enable us to manufacture a wide range of components from a variety of engineering plastics. At the simple end this includes items like plastic strips made from polyethylene, and increases in complexity to items like machine guards made from PETG and polycarbonate, and then on to complex or large items such as plastic tanks for chemical processing industries made from PVC and polypropylene.

We have a network of printing subcontractors that we work with to supply machined and printed panels.  This ranges from control panels to nameplates to plastic enclosures for electronics.

CNC Machining of Plastics

We offer plastic machining services using our 3-axis CNC-controlled machinery with 2-1/2D capabilities to machine a wide variety of plastic components.

CNC Routing & Plastic Profiling

CNC  routing is the ideal process for manufacturing flat panel-type components such as machinery windows, equipment housings, panels & doors. CNC routing is also the first process step in manufacturing machine guards and other plastic fabrications. Virtually any rigid plastic can be processed using this technology.

Laser Cutting of Plastics

Laser cutting is a non-contact form of cutting that uses a focused laser beam to cut cleanly a variety of plastic materials. We offer laser cutting and laser profiling services using our state-of-the-art CNC-controlled laser cutting machinery. We can laser cut acrylic, mylar, polypropylene, polyester, and several thin film laminates including printed membrane switch materials.

Plastic Welding

Certain plastics, such as PVC, polyethylene and polypropylene are fabricated through the process of hot gas welding. Other plastics such as polycarbonate and PETG can also be hot gas welded.

While the basic process is simple, quality welding of rigid plastics is a skill developed over many years of experience. Our team have a wealth of experience in all the above materials, and we have CSWIP certification for the hot gas welding process.

Line Bending/Heat Bending

Plastic bending can be accomplished using several techniques. Line bending is an efficient process for creating one or more tight radius bends in most formable sheet plastics.

Drape Moulding

Drape moulding is a forming process that is good for producing large radius curves in plastic panels and for making tubes and cones. It is particularly effective for large components and thick section materials.

Polishing & Edge Finishing

Edge treatments fall into two main groups - edge profiling and edge polishing or finishing.  Profiling is the array of options ranging from deburring to chamfering to radiusing.  Polishing is used to give an enhanced look to a component. This is commonly used for acrylic components since they polish well and are often used for highly visual applications. We flame polish, wet sand and buff polish.  For tougher plastics, there are edge polishing and finishing options that enhance the appearance for components where visual appearance is an important design factor.

Assembly of Components

Not only do we manufacture single components, but also we assemble fabricated, machined and bought-in components to create value-added sub-assemblies and finished products.
