All units are purpose designed to suit clients individual requirements and the most requested specification is for pre-galvanised mild steel fully welded casings housing pre-galvanised mild steel double skin “z” section type parallel operating blades mounted on zinc plated spindles running in nylon bushes. 

The maximum blade length based on face velocities up to 1250 FPM (6.35m/sec) is 2000mm but units having internal casing width in excess of this figure will have banks of bladders with mullions sited to cause the minimum restriction in air flow. Louvres suitable for higher air velocities can be supplied but E.A.T must be advised accordingly before manufacture commences. 

To cater for site conditions and global installations we can offer alternative constructions of 304 or 316L Stainless steel, Mill finish or Marine Grade Aluminium:- Black or Hot dip galvanised Mild Steel. All units can be offered with a paint or powder coated finish. 

If the Lourves are to be sited or operated in temperatures exceeding 80 degree C once again we should be advised of such at the outset. 

These are manufactured for those instances where the building or enclosure in which the dampers are fitted will be flooded with fire extinguishing Gas.

The construction of the dampers is similar to that of the standard motorised louvers mentioned above, except that maximum blade length for a single module 1500mm with the blades linked at both ends and the unit fitted with side shims and a closed cell neoprene foam seal fitted to each blade. 

The Dampers have a 98% sealing efficiency retaining the extinguishing gas for up to 5 minutes or longer depending on individual installation. 

These units are generally fitted on the outlet Air side of an installation, as an alternative to a motorised louvre, and are operated open purely by the outlet air velocity within the duct system.

The maximum blade length based on face velocities of 1250 FPM (6.35m/sec) is 1300mm, but units having an internal casing width inexcess of this figure will have multiple banks of blades with mullions sited to cause the minimum restriction to airflow. Units suitable for much higher air velocities can be supplied but EAT must be advised accordingly before manufacturing commences. 

In the event that the units may be subjected to higher air velocities or turbulent air conditions it is advised that the blades be interlinked on the centre line so that they rise and fall in unison. 

As this action increases the pressure drop through the blades which cannot always be accommodated it may be necessary in some cases to add counter balance weights.
