A Galvanisation Service is a process in which a coating of zinc is applied to corrodible metals. This usually refers to iron and steel to prevent rusting but can also include aluminium. Galvanisation Services include electrochemical and electrodeposition processes but by far the most popular today is the hot-dip method. In this method, the object is drawn through a bath of molten zinc at 460 degrees centigrade. Oxygen in the air then forms a layer of zinc oxide to give further protection.
