Plastic Injection Moulding has developed, from a fairly low-tech industry, into high technology industry, producing complex products from the latest thermoplastic and thermosetting plastic. The plastic is heated and forced into a mould, of the desired shape, which can be as large as a complete car body panel. Some companies provide a whole service, from design to volume production, but many of the moulds are made to order by specialist tool manufacturers.
