We now have 28 years experience in this field and a significant number of systems installed in both off-line and in-process applications, in a wide variety of industries including Steel and Metals, Electronics, Medical, Dental Research, Aerospace, Defense and the Nuclear Industry and Universities around the world.

Surface Profilometry
Scantron measure surfaces using scanning displacement sensors. Both Triangulation sensors and Chromatic Aberation sensors are used, all depending on application.
Proscan Magnum
The Proscan Magnum is a non-contact shape table for off-line measurement of flatness or shape of aluminium or steel strip. Stresses within the rolled strip mean a residual 'shape' remains within the material. This shape is evident when the strip is laid on a flat surface. The Proscan Magnum accurately measures and quantifies the latent shape in the sample and proving absolute values of wave heights, waves per meter and I units. Off line measurement is the most accurate method of measuring shape as there is no tension or stress in the material during the measuring process. This makes the Proscan Magnum particularly suited for measuring thin gauge material with very high flatness specification such as lithographic aluminium coil. The Proscan Magnum provides the user with full 2D & 3D mapping of the surface flatness
Proscan 2000
The Proscan 2000 is a fast and accurate non-contact three dimensional surface measurement instrument. It is used for a variety of applications where it is important to know the precise profile and form of a surface. Once a scan is complete our software allows for a wide range of analytical tasks to be carried out, from calculating the surface area of a sample to ISO standard Roughness and Normalised Peak Count. Proscan has a resolution in height measurement as low as 5nm, measured at a rate of up to 1,000 points per second, using our latest non contact sensor technology. Faster scanning is achievable with our laser triangulation scanners which can scan at a rate of 10,000 measurements per second to a height resolution of 100nm.
Proscan MasterTrak
The Proscan MasterTrak is a complete on-line thickness or width measurement and control system. Using a non-contact measurement technique to measure the thickness or width profile of continuous or piece products as they are being produced. When used to measure the thickness the system can be supplied either to measure single or multiple points across the width of the product. The MasterTrak is capable of measuring accurately on materials such as soft, fragile, abrasive and many other types of product, where traditional contact methods have proved not to be effective. Even in industries where traditional contact methods have been used successfully the Proscan MasterTrak offers a more reliable measurement with less maintenance. Proscan MasterTrak is a real time thickness or width monitor, displaying absolute dimensions to the process line operator. In addition, the system logs every measurement, enabling detailed statistical reports to be produced. The Proscan MasterTrak has the option available for proportional feedback control for automatically regulating the process to maintain the correct dimensions.
Atlas
The ATLAS is a digital measurement sensor which enables you to measure distance, thickness, width, height, straightness, flatness, profiles and much more. It simplifies measurement by combining easy operator setup and flexible interface modules. Multi-sensor applications, which in the past would have required external processors and programming, are now done easily with the ATLAS using the on-board DSP and multi-drop RS485 capability, providing easy communication and math capabilities. The ATLAS also provides unrivaled real-time process monitoring. Immediate and precise feedback of process parameters allows corrections to be made quickly with minimal downtime. The pure digital signal processing from the CMOS-array through the DSP to the RS485 interface retains the quality of the measurements. Optional RS232, Profibus DP, analog or Ethernet UDP interfaces add versatility. The ATLAS sensors are especially suitable for automation and in-line production monitoring, paying in short time through improved production documentation and quality assurance.
Polaris
The POLARIS series sensors have proven successful in hundreds of difficult, high tolerance applications due to their extreme precision and rugged reliability. They provide non-contact measurement of dimensions such as distance, thickness, width, height, and flatness, without the need to stop the material for measurement. Thanks to their high-resolution CCD line array and the integrated Digital Signal Processor (DSP), they provide accurate measurement results for online process monitoring and control. Through tighter process control, return on investment (ROI) can be achieved within a short period of time.
Antaris
In contrast to conventional laser sensors, the ANTARIS sensors combine a high resolution CCD line scan camera with a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to provide pure digital acquisition and processing of measured values. Sophisticated design using proprietary engineered materials ensures the highest stability without temperature drift and provides shock resistance for use in harsh industrial environments. the ANTARIS series gauges provide precise results on virtually all materials, as the integrated DSP adapts the measuring parameters to changing colors and surfaces in real- time. Due to their large measuring distance, the ANTARIS sensors are excellently suited for measuring in hostile conditions, e.g. on red- hot materials.
Scanning Antaris
The sensors in a scanning Antaris are based on the innovative laser triangulation sensors of the Antaris series. These units are designed for high precision 2D profile measurement and have been built primary for use in rolling mills.
The measurement range and stand off are variable and can be optimized per customers requirements.
Speed & Length Measurement
Scantron has supplied the market with Speed and Length measurement system for 2 decades. With applications in steel and metals industry, paper, extrusion, cable, carpet and many more.
µSpeed
Capable of measuring speed and length with a typical accuracy better than +/- 0.05%, µSpeed is the ideal gauge for replacing contact tachometers which tend to tackle measurement errors caused by slippage, chatter or vibration, dirt build-up and day to day wear problems. The most compact and easy to handle in class µSpeed uses proven laser doppler technology. Thus it has no moving parts, is maintenance free and permanently calibrated, resulting in significant time and money savings.

Laser Micrometers for On and Off line Diameter Measurement
Scantron sell Aeroel lasergauges used on and off-line in applications ranging from centreless grinding, extrusion, wire and mechanical labaratories.
Extruline
The Extruline family of laser diameter micrometers are suitable for on-line measurement of any continuous extruded product. Single or dual axis models provide 100 % diameter and ovality monitoring and tolerance alarm generation. The closed loop facility automatically regulates haul off speed or extruder screw to maintain more consistent product size and improve product quality. A detailed statistical report of measured product dimensions can be printed for every spool. No other system offers the simplicity or the performance of the Extruline.
