Self Drive Hire
We have the largest self drive light truck mount platform fleet in the country - with working heights ranging from 10 to 26 metres. With low hire rates and with no down time waiting on site for a platform to be delivered, plus the ability to control when your truck mount is collected and returned, more contractors are seeing a positive impact on their margins by choosing the self drive option. With only a standard driving licence needed to drive most of our trucks, free full familiarisation to use our platforms and a competitively priced Collision Damage Waiver, the move to self operated is a quick, simple and economical transition.

Delivery/Collection
If you prefer we also offer a collection and delivery service to your office or site.

Operated Hire
Smart also provide fully qualified and experienced operators as an alternative to self drive.

IPAF & PASMA Training courses are also available from both our depots.

We are proud to now announce that after being a long standing IPAF Member, we are now also an IPAF accredited Training Centre. This means that we now can offer courses direct and provide not only truck mounted (IPAF Category 1b) training but also self-propelled boom (IPAF Category 3b) and scissor lifts (IPAF Category 3a). In addition we can now run courses not only at our depots but also on suitable customer locations or work sites.

We regularly run these one day courses that provide you with a 5 year accreditation, recognised by the (MCG) Main Contractors Group.

Tracked narrow access platforms are now available on a self drive truck mounted package.

You may have come across narrow access platforms previously. These small tracked machines are developed to negotiate narrow access routes, such as passageways and alleys with ease (ours can go through as little as 85cm widths). Additionally with our platform's low overall weight (1.4 tonnes) and being on tracks means it has very low point loadings and minimal disruption on site so is ideal for work in conservation areas or in weight restricted areas like mezzanine floors. Once the access to the site has been negotiated the automatic one touch stabilisation makes the platform easy to use and with the outriggers deployed provides a working height of 13.9m and a maximum outreach of 6.7m outreach (for a full spec sheet click HERE.

Our van and truck mounted access platforms have great mobility. Unlike traditional scaffolding, self propelled cherry pickers and booms, you can use our vehicle mounted booms to do several jobs all on the same hire. Visit multiple sites and spread the cost of the hire over several jobs; making for an even more cost effective work at height solution.

Truck Mounted Access Platform Features
Our platforms incorporate numerous features that provide you with even more smart working benefits. With most models having rotatable baskets you can keep flush to larger surface areas without the need for continually having to set up and down.

Most models have outriggers that can be deployed that can allow for working on gradients that non-jacking self propelled platforms can’t address.

The majority of models have footprints that, even with outriggers deployed, fit easily within a standard car park space.

Many of our smaller models feature generously sized storage boxes that can be used to store your equipment and materials. Many of our larger platforms include sign trays.

Our truck mounts are generally much lighter than equivalent working height self propelled platforms, so can be used on a wider range of applications.

Platforms are regularly available for sale and are offered with the following:

• Full 12 months MOT
• 6 monthly Loler certification
• Full service history
• 1000 miles or 1 month warranty (whichever occurs sooner)
• In a fully undecaled state
