To ensure your safety it’s advised to check your tyre’s tread depth the legal requirement is 1.6mm however motoring organisations recommend that if the tread depth is below 3mm the chance of losing grip is a major possibility in bad weather.

All cars 3 years old and over require a valid MOT certificate.

MOT tests can be conducted on your car up to one month prior to the expiry date of an existing MOT certificate, provided that a current MOT certificate is presented to the examiner at the time of the test.
On passing the MOT test, the car will receive a certificate valid from the date of expiry of your existing MOT certificate. We will send a reminder prior to the next MOT due date.

The Department for Transport is adding a number of new mandatory test items to the annual MOT from 1 January 2012 to comply with a revised European testing directive. The aim of the revised directive (2009/40/EC) is to harmonise minimum test requirements across Europe and make sure the test reflects the electrical/electronic complexity of modern car safety features.

If the front wheels are not aligned to the rear thrust line. This can happen from normal wear and stress, whether your vehicle has adjustable or non-adjustable rear suspension. To steer straight ahead, you would have to steer the front wheels slightly to the right. A common result would be that the vehicle would "dog track" and possibly "pull" to the side. Of course, the angles are exaggerated so you can more easily see the condition. But it takes only a small misalignment to create problems

 Reduced Tyre Wear
Improper alignment is a major cause of premature tyre wear. Over the years, a properly aligned vehicle can add thousands of miles to tyre life, better Fuel Mileage, fuel mileage increases as rolling resistance decreases. Total alignment sets all four wheel parallel which, along with proper inflation, minimizes rolling resistance.

Improved Handling
Does your car pull to one side? Does the steering wheel vibrate? Do you constantly have to move the steering wheel to keep your car travelling straight ahead?
