JL Float specialises in pressings, presswork, welding and fabrication. Our service is to the highest quality, on time and at a cost that will suit your business.

We have over 80 years of knowledge and experience to convert your drawings into the real thing. We will give you the right advice on any pressings, presswork, welding and fabrication requirements you may have. We are a forward-thinking company supplying high, medium and low volume components. Our operational ability includes mixtures of blanking, forming, piercing and deep drawing.

As well as our pressings, presswork, welding and fabrication service, we offer laser cutting, press braking, subcontract finishing and we have strong links to India for sourcing low cost components. Our first class service includes JIT, Kan Ban, Self Scheduling and EDI and we are in-line with BS ISO9001: 2000 and BS EN ISO 4001.

Our metal presswork service can cover a variety of components ranging from simple to very complex. We will cover more general metal presswork to deep drawn presswork as is your requirement. As part of our metal presswork service, we can manufacture in a range of different materials and in a range of thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 10 mm. We have an inhouse tool room and design facility for many projects from design through to repairs.

For our presswork service we have a wide range of presses ranging from 20 to 500 tonnes with or without cushions. Our presses have large bed areas that are up to 2.2 metres wide and have coil feeds up to 550 mm. As part of our presswork service, we have a tool room facility that will meet all your project requirements from the design to the repair if your components.

Here at JL Float, our welding fabrication service covers all types and grades of metal. They are welded by our certified welders.

We have two robotic MIG welding cells and our welding fabrication also covers brazing, TIG, spot and projection welding. We will undertake manual, automatic or semi-automatic welding, and we will finish material via our subcontractors to your exact specifications.

All our welding fabrication work is controlled quality to BS EN ISO 9001:2000.

Our industrial floats and metal spinning service cover the following:

• Cisterns, traps and level measurement 
• Metal Spinning up to 1.2 metres (48”) diameter in all manner of material
• Assembly by welding, soldering (lead or lead free solders), brazing or solderless
• Standard sizes from 3" to 24" diameter
• Customers own designs, elongated and specials with tubes and fittings
• Copper floats and shells; medium are lightweight, BSS are to BS 1968:1953
• All grades of stainless steel available including Inconel, Monel and Titanium
• Controlled quality to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 with test certificates if required
