If you have smoke vents in place in case of fire then a fireman's override switch is also an essential piece of kit. The switch allows a fire officer to close the vents once the threat from fire has been eliminated and the smoke has been removed from the building. And during routine testing and drills the switch allows you to simple reset the vents to their usual position.
