Black Nickel Plating

  • Black Nickel can be plated onto any metal and produces a thin jet black finish. It is suitable for applications that require a non reflective surface

  • The thickness of the coating is less than 3 microns so if corrosive protection is required an undercoat of Zinc or Nickel plating  will be necessary

  • Black nickel plating results in a dense black finish onto any metal - it is ideal for parts where a non-reflective surface is required.

Electroless Nickel Plating

Electroless Nickel  is a process which deposits hard, smooth corrosion resistant coatings by chemical reduction It is generally used as a fast plating process for Engineering applications, e.g. pumps, gears, pistons and rollers etc.

Electroless Nickel can produce uniform coatings over complex shapes or where there are tight tolerances to work with.

The hardness of Electroless Nickel as plated is approximately 500 VPN but can be increased to values as high as 900-1000 VPN by heat treatment. Deposits of up to 80 microns can be achieved. Electroless Nickel is also available in a Black Finish.

Hard Anodising

Hard Anodising is an electrolytic process that is used to increase the thickness of the natural oxide film on the surface of Aluminium and its Alloys and produces a very hard corrosion resistant insulated surface. Anodising thicknesses can range from 25 microns to 75 microns depending on the Alloy being processed and produce a hard surface with readings of up to 800VPN.   The colour can vary from light to dark grey depending on thickness with the option of being dyed black, other colours can be made available upon request . A secure contact point is required due to the current needed to produce the Hard Anodised coating. We can mask off areas where anodising is not required. The resulting finish depends on the aluminium alloy but is generally light grey.

Plating

  • Tin Plating: Our Bright Tin process produces a fully bright finish. In addition to its pleasing appearance, it possesses remarkable corrosion resistance.

  • Zinc Plating: Zinc is primarily used as a coating for steel and provides excellent corrosion protection, although it can be plated onto other metals.

  • Copper Plating: The Copper plating process is suitable for plating on steel and Zinc die-casting.

  • Silver Plating: Silver Plating gives a bright finish that has excellent electrical conductivity making it ideal for electrical applications.

Alocrom

A rapid, non-electrolytic dip process which forms a protective coating on aluminium and its alloys.

It produces a golden appearance as in Alocrom 1200  it gives good protection against corrosion and provides an excellent foundation for paint.

Chromating is a chemical process, which does not use an electrical current and results in the surface of the aluminium being converted into a chromate film.

Surtec 650

Surtec 650 is a trivalent chromium free passivate for aluminium, fulfilling the requirements of ELV, RoHS and WEEE.

It also works on alloyed and cast aluminium and meets the requirements of MIL-DTL-81706B and MIL-DTL-5541F.

Suitable as a conversion coating for Magnesium.

Liquid concentrate based on Trivalent Chromium.

Excellent bare corrosion protection comparable to Hexavalent Chromium.
