Pleated Polymeric Filters

Constructed from FDA compliant media the multi layered Premier Pleat filter cartridge consistently and effectively removes the desired particle size, whilst still allowing finer particles through.

Our pleated polymeric filters are manufactured in an ISO cleanroom to minimise risk of cross contamination.

The multi-layer combination of the filter media carefully pleated and thermally bonded maximises the media area and ensures an efficient flow throughout the cartridge.

Every membrane filter cartridge is manufactured from a multi–layer combination of mesh, filter membrane, support core and a drainage layer. Manufactured with injection moulded inner and outer supports, the membranes are designed to withstand thermal stresses during process.

Pleated Polymeric Filters

Metallic Filters

The filter cartridges are wholly constructed of 316L grade stainless steel. Available in plain and pleated configurations:

• Plain cylindrical design provides a sleeve of filter media protected and supported by woven meshes around a support core.

• Pleated design comprises of protection and support meshes either side of the filter media wrapped around a support core to provide over twice the effective filtration area of the cylindrical cartridge.

The robust design that is provided by a fully welded metallic filter cartridge is required to resist deterioration in harsh operating environments where the fluids are aggressive.

Depth Filtration

The 3 types of depth filter CPL Filtration supply are:

Spun Bonded – One of CPL Filtration’s most popular cartridges.  This cartridge meets the benefits of most non-critical applications or as an economic pre-filter where low change-outs are required.

Resin Bonded – CPL Filtration supply the ProBond™ range, this cartridge has a unique, proprietary two-stage filtration design to maximize particle removal, service life and high temperature.

Wound – The SPECTRUM wound range is offered in three medias with a wide span of micron rating (0.5 – 150) offering cost effective particulate filtration.

Carbon Filters

CPL Filtration supply a wide range of Carbon filters to suit all needs.

The 870 Carbon (SCW) is capable of removing sediment and other fine particulates throughout its media, this dual stage cartridge also works to reduce odours, remove water pigmentation and other volatile organic compounds.

The SPECTRUM 870 ECB and SCB carbon range delivers a genuine balance between chlorine absorption, high dirt-holding and value for money.

The 870 Carbon (PCB) delivers the highest levels of chloramine removal delivering performance levels far in excess of traditional carbon filters.

The CFBC range uses Fibredyne Technology to achieve the best in cyst and chlorine reduction with the additional advantage of sediment reduction

Bag Filters

We supply 3 media formats as follows:

Polypropylene – suitable for the majority of applications.

Polyester – suitable where solvent compatibility and high temperature are required.

Nylon – suitable for a wide range of applications.

The key benefits to bag filtration are that high flow rates are achieved in a much smaller sized housing compared to filter cartridge housings, which reduces costs. They come with a wide range of micron sizes -1 to 800 and are simple to use and easy to change, again reducing operator costs.

Water Softening

Cabinet Systems

Most of the components are housed within a cabinet, which doubles up as the brine tank.  Where space is key these systems are a popular choice

Stand-alone Systems

Usually found in industrial applications, these softener systems are designed to produce several thousand litres of soft water per day. The valve, vessel and the brine tank are easily accessible for monitoring and maintenance

A water softener is used to remove hardness from water and consists of four essential components

The valve

Key to making the system produce soft water, the valve is the control centre of the softener and is programmed to ensure the various stages of the softener process occur.  As a minimum, a valve will have an inlet, outlet, brine line and a drain.

Pressure Vessel & Distribution System

Attached to the valve, the vessel contains ion exchange resin, which chemically transforms hard water into soft water

Brine Tank

This can be a stand-alone tank or cabinet containing brine that is integral to a softener system.  Created by a mix of salt and water, brine is stored in the tank or cabinet and is injected into the pressure vessel as part of the regeneration cycle.  This cycle is essential to ensure the resin is chemically balanced in order to remove hardness.

Resin

Softening resin is the media used inside the pressure vessel which makes hard water soft by chemically removing calcium and magnesium ions in exchange for sodium ions

Pressure Vessels and Media

A fundamental piece of equipment for building a water softener is the pressure vessel which holds the resin or media.  Particularly in applications where softeners are constantly operating it becomes more important that the equipment is robust and reliable. The SPECTRUM range of black pressure vessels have been specifically manufactured with quality and reliabilty in mind.

All vessels are NSF tested and certified and are lot coded for product tracking and traceability.  Constructed from food grade high density polyethylene (HDPE) and reinforced with fibre glass for added strength, temperature and pressure ratings.
