IPC Training for Trainers (CITs) and Staff (CISs) over five IPC certification programmes. Electronics Yorkshire is the only IPC authorised centre in the UK that covers this ‘two-tier’ approach across all five programmes.
IPC A-610 Acceptability in Electronic Assemblies is for quality assurance/visual acceptance of electronic assemblies based on the world's most widely used electronics assembly acceptability standard
IPC J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies is for hand and machine soldering processes and material requirements. It includes hands-on training.
IPC A-600 Acceptability of Printed Boards is for quality assurance/visual acceptance of unpopulated printed circuit boards and explores the specifications, problems and faults that occur with the manufacture of PCBs.
IPC/WHMA A-620 Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies is for improving the quality of your cables and harnesses, reducing errors and costs.
IPC 7711/7721 Rework, Modification and Repair of Electronic Assemblies is for the rework, repair and modification of electronic assemblies, rather than scrapping them. It features hands-on training.
Practical Skills Training for the Electronics Industry
Electronics Yorkshire is the premier training organisation for practical skills training in electronics.

Our electronics skills courses cover the following topics:
Introduction to Electronics for non-technical staff
This one-day course is an excellent way to introduce new and non-technical staff, such as accounts, sales, administration, stores procurement and purchasing staff, to the ‘mysteries’ of electronics.
Soldering to Industrial Standards
Occasional shortcuts and ‘make-dos’ can often become the routine method for even the most experienced staff, and simple errors can lead to catastrophic and expensive failures. This course provides the knowledge and skills to carry out hand-soldering processes.
Surface Mount Devices (SMD) Reworking
Staff involved in the rework of PCBs must know how to replace surface mount components successfully – getting it right first time, every time; this course provides students with the practical skills needed for the reworking of such surface-mounted devices.
Advanced Surface Mount Technology (ASMT) Reworking
Staff involved with the rework of components need more than a basic knowledge of how to handle surface mount devices, and this course provides students with the practical skills needed for the reworking of such surface-mounted connections.
Ball Grid Array (BGA), Chip Scale Package (CSP) and Quad Flat-pack (QFN) Reworking
BGAs, CSPs and QFNs are becoming essential components in the production of electronic devices but frequently staff are unsure how to rework these, often very expensive, components with confidence. On this course candidates learn the complex skills involved in the placement and inspection of BGA, CSP and QFN devices.
Cable Terminations and Harness Assembly
This course is essential for anyone working with cables and looms in whatever industry sector and provides practical support to complement the IPC/WHMA-A-620 course.
Understand the Dangers of Electro-static Discharge (ESD)
This one-day course ensures staff understand how ESD is the unseen enemy, why it must be eliminated and what steps need to be taken to prevent catastrophe.
Bespoke Courses are also offered either in our fully-equipped Training Centre or, where appropriate, On-Site.

Testing & Analysis at Electronics Yorkshire
We have optical inspection devices which can be used for detecting PCB and solder anomalies, and a 5-axis x-ray machine regularly used to detect faults invisible to optical inspection devices.
With the environmental simulation testing chamber carry out accelerated life-cycle testing or use the Fischerscope XDAL X-Ray Spectrometer for elemental analysis of materials and components.
Rework & Repair at Electronics Yorkshire
Resolve problems identified during testing and inspection, or from product failures in the field; these facilities can also be used for product development such as carrying out a modification to a circuit track, replacing an incorrect component, replacing a lifted pad or for laminate repair.
Equipment includes hot air rework systems, desolder vacuums, vision systems and a wide range of solder tools.
