So named because of their function as energy storers in clocks where a torsional effect is required through a large number of revolutions, Emmotts manufacture all variations of this product : open spriral and close coiled.  Applications include cable reel retraction and torsional counterbalancing; while conventional clock springs are used in a veriety of scientific instruments. Emmotts has also recently introduced a purpose-designed CAD facility.
