BC 2231 can be used in skin care products where it imparts a pleasant feel to skin by facilitating spreading of the formulation actives and by improving skin elasticity.
Or alternatively it can be used in hair care where BC 2231 acts as a two step conditioner. Firstly the volatile cyclopentasiloxane functions as a temporary conditioner improving the wet combing of hair. Secondly the nonvolatile high viscosity gum acts as a long lasting conditioner providing improved dry combing and a soft feel.
