Visibility & Present Weather Sensor - the PWS100
Campbell Scientific's PWS100 is unique in the market because it measures both the size and speed of a particle as it passes through 4 parallel laser light sheets, scattering light to 2 separate receptors.
The sensor uses phase doppler anemometry methods and a high speed digital processor to analyse the signal created by the scattered light to determine the size, velocity and type of hydyometeor - rain, snow, drizzle etc.
Visibility values up to 10Km are supported.
