Bowers Makes An Impression

Designed for the convenient hardness testing of components on the shop floor, Bowers Metrology has launched the HB 1500 Portable Brinell Hardness Tester. Using a high quality spherical, steel indenter, Bowers’ flexible new tester is capable of undertaking three basic types of applications - bench, C-clamp and hammer-impact hardness testing.
The cost effective new unit’s simple operating principle means that after making a physical impression on the metal surface being tested, the sample’s hardness value can be accurately determined using the unit’s built-in microscope and its easy to interpret hardness tables.
Offering the user completely autonomous operation - no power cables, etc. the lightweight HB-1500 tester can be used in virtually any position, and is able to test samples from small to large with a test force 1580 kgf, controlled by a shear pin.
With an accuracy specification in accordance to ISO 6506, demonstrations of the tough new hardness tester can be arranged through Bowers Metrology UK.
