P1 Technology Expanding

A Sheffield-based product design consultancy is expanding in the current economic climate, and is encouraging local manufacturers to innovate ahead of the predicted market recovery.
P1 Technology has recently expanded its business into new premises at Thorncliffe Park, Chapeltown and has grown from just two employees to eight employees in the past nine months. The company is unique compared to its regional competitors in that it marries high quality creative product design with strong engineering fundamentals and an ethos of ‘design for manufacture’.
Design Engineer Natalie Grayson commented, “We are now fully equipped to deliver projects on budget and on time. The P1 group of companies, which now includes: P1 Moulding solutions, and P1 Engineering Solutions; is now fully resourced to provide expertise throughout the whole design process, not just from concept to prototype, but from concept to manufacture. With staff from engineering, architectural, plastics, and consumer product design, practical manufacturing advice can be offered on almost any project.”
P1 staff pride themselves in forming long lasting customer relationships, and are committed to helping companies make the right decisions, and get the most out of developing their products. The company is encouraging their customers to sustain research and development activity in this current climate.
Natalie added, “In the last recession R&D budgets were the first to be pulled by big companies. When the economy started to recover, they found themselves with no innovative new products to differentiate themselves from competitors. “We appreciate that in this financial climate, budgets are often tight on new projects. P1 can help you make the right decisions at an early stage, avoiding costly re-designs, and saving you money. This means that you don’t waste time and money developing products that can’t be efficiently manufactured.”
P1 recently held a launch event for customers at their new premises, as Business Development Manager, Richard Allott explains; “It was great to see so many people turn up to see the new office and to catch up with what P1 is doing, we plan to hold similar events in the new year so that people can keep up to speed with the direction we are taking”.
