Plastic recycling is at the heart of what we do here at 1st Packaging and love seeing stories like this one talking about upcycling single use plastic bottles:

  4. Plastic Packaging Ban ‘Could Harm Environment’

Science does matter and the plastic packaging industry tries to consider holistically what has the best and worse impact on the environment. Roger Harrabin the environment analyst from the BBC has been looking at how important wider research is. “Consumer pressure to end plastic packaging in shops could actually be harming the environment”, a report says. This report on plastic packaging and is available at https://www.green-alliance.org.uk/plastic_promises.php

Andrew Opie, from the British Retail Consortium, echoed calls for a clearer strategy, “All responsible retailers agree that climate change needs to be at the heart of their business, whether that is sourcing products or changing packaging.” “Plastic remains the most effective material in many circumstances – for example cucumbers wrapped in plastic last 14 days longer, reducing food waste”.

  5. The Environmental Is Important

As a company we take the environment very seriously and use this position to inform our decisions here at 1st Packaging. Plastic doesn’t have a good name when it comes to the environment, however it provides a high quality and high value option for product packaging. There are often reasons that plastic packaging is the best product for the particular application, which we plan to showcase in the coming months.

Our approach is to make sure that we consider the environmental impact when advising clients which packing solution is the right one for them. By drawing on our expert knowledge situations like this can be avoided – https://www.bbc.com/news/business-49234054 . Even the big multinationals can get it wrong sometimes.
