Here at 1st Packaging we recognise the outstanding effort and work that front line health care workers make so wanted to ensure that protective equipment was available at the right level of supply, at the right time and at the right price. We have come up with a solution and are currently talking to the major providers to keep front line staff safe. You can read more on our PPE page.

Science does matter and the plastic packaging industry tries to consider holistically what has the best and worse impact on the environment. Roger Harrabin the environment analyst from the BBC has been looking at how important wider research is. “Consumer pressure to end plastic packaging in shops could actually be harming the environment”, a report says. Andrew Opie, from the British Retail Consortium, echoed calls for a clearer strategy, “All responsible retailers agree that climate change needs to be at the heart of their business, whether that is sourcing products or changing packaging.” “Plastic remains the most effective material in many circumstances – for example cucumbers wrapped in plastic last 14 days longer, reducing food waste”.
