Foamed acrylic tapes are made from a composition of acrylic copolymers and monomers which have glass microsphere fillers. This is then extruded and cured under UV light. Foamed acrylic tapes are naturally tacky and form excellent structural bonds when used on non porous materials. This can often replace the need for a mechanical or liquid fastener. Some grades of foamed acrylic tapes have an additional acrylic coating to enhance overall adhesion on low energy surfaces. They are useful in resin bonded laminated glass, sign manufacture, bar bonding, door panel manufacture and in the manufacture of cladding panels as well as in general metal fabrication.
