StoneCircle

stoneCIRCLE celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018 having been founded in 1968.  It has grown to be the one of the largest stonemasons in England, manufacturing products for both commercial and domestic use in its 2800ft2  factory in Basingstoke, just a stone's throw from central London.

The company is known for its attention to detail and customer service as shown by the high rate of referrals and the reviews on their TrustPilot page.

Everything that they produce is manufactured to the client's specification in the stone of their choice.  Where required the company also works from free issue stone.

Stonemasonry for commercial projects

stoneCIRCLE regularly works with professionals specifying stone, through architects and interior designers but also directly with artists, house developers and kitchen and bathroom showrooms and as a sub-contractor for stone contracting companies.  Their work encompasses hotels, retail, commercial and residential projects.

Some of the vast portfolio of projects that they have carried out can be seen in the case study section of their website.

The factory is equipped with the latest stone cutting CNC technology including 3D modelling and a 5-axes machine to allow carving of the stone as well as waterjet cutters which have been used on projects as diverse as Portland Stone and bronze friezes by Julian Opie and Rhona Smith, and intricate inlaid marble floors for retail stores and hotels.

Architectural Stonework

stoneCIRCLE has a lot of experience of exterior stonework and cladding.  The company can work in any stone specified by the architect and is a sub-contractor for some of the largest stone contractors in the country.

A mixture of the latest technology and hand finishing is used as appropriate.  The factory was extended in 2015 and is the largest in the south of England.  Our CNC equipped machines are capable of 3D stone carving.  We also have waterjet cutters for intricate inlaid work, in bronze and other materials as well as stone.

Residential stone work

The company regularly works with interior designers and architects on residential projects, manufacturing and installing marble and limestone bathroom items, including vanity tops, shower trays, basins and tiles, granite and quartz kitchen worktops, stone fireplaces etc.

Book matching of marble and quartzite panels is currently very in vogue especially with the popularity of white stones such as Arabescato, Calacatta Vagli and Bianco Lasa quartzite, and stoneCIRCLE excels at this, being the only stonemason in the country using the Slabsmith vein matching technology.

Granite Worktops

We have manufactured and fitted a huge number of granite worktops since 1968 when we started business.

We make the worktops to measure for the kitchen in which they will be installed.  In addition to the hundreds of granites that we either stock or can order in with ease, we are approved fabricators for all the major brands of quartz and sintered stone, including Silestone, Q-Stone, CRL, Dekton, Lapitec and Neolith and will work with you to ensure that your clients' kitchen worktops will satisfy them for years to come.

Stone for Pools and Spas

Swimming pools lend themselves naturally to the use of stone which has been used for bathing since Roman times.  stoneCIRCLE fabricate swimming pool steps, coping and surrounds for residential properties, hotels and leisure centres, as well as manufacturing stone panels, benches and tiles for spas.

Natural Stone Flooring

Stone is a natural choice for flooring as it is easy to clean, and long lasting. The many different types and colours of stone means that you can specify a stone to suit the project. Granite is particularly suitable for high traffic areas and kitchens to match or complement the worktops. Limestone is often used throughout residential living areas.

Marble imparts a sense of luxury or opulence. Book-matching marbles with large scale veins gives a dramatic look, and intricate designs can be created by inlaying different coloured marbles.

The surface finish can also be selected according to the intended use, with a sandblasted finish where slip hazards might be highest such as around a pool, and a polished finish for more formal settings.

Stone Staircases

Stone has been used for staircases for thousands of years. We often install stone onto an existing staircase, but we also create solid stone steps, risers and strings. For one retail store where there were load bearing concerns, we clad steel frames in marble, which along with limestone is the most frequently used type of stone, although granite is also sometimes used.

Our experience working on some of the most prestigious interior projects in the country, on hotels, retail stores and private residences makes us ideally placed to help identify the best material for your project, fabricate and install it once chosen.

External Stonework

We carry out restoration work of stone façades where we remove details and scan them, before carving replicas on our CNC equipped machines. We also create and install stone cladding in both traditional stones such as Portland stone and Bath stone, and man-made alternatives such as Dekton.
