‘Hit the road Jack’; the old song goes. So, this week I did, along with our Head of Marketing and Sales & Marketing Director; Steve Paine and James Harding.

As a name known on factory floors and in workshops & meeting rooms across the country and beyond for decades; Applegate feels at home in the place that it all begun – Manufacturing, Engineering & Electronics.

So where better to showcase Applegate’s eProcurement solution, meet clients old and new, get up to speed on latest industry innovations and more, than at one of the UKs premier industry exhibitions? Southern Manufacturing was as successful as ever.

The tone on the Industry & Brexit

Positive – delightfully.

Regardless of your opinion on the UKs exit from the European Union – it’s happening.

What was fantastic at Southern Manufacturing, was the hugely positive outlook of machinists; engineers; service companies; exporters and everything in between. Applegate knows, from its own vast and established supplier network, and beyond; that the future is bright for the UK’s Engineering & Manufacturing sectors. Whether you are looking for a supplier in the UK, Germany, China or anywhere else – we will provide you with the same, reliable and quality service we always have.

The tone on Applegate

Positive – obviously.

No business is perfect, of course, but we will always strive to be the best we can be.

What I always enjoy when meeting with existing clients, is identifying ways in which we can improve their experience and increase the benefits of their interactions with our service. Put bluntly – we know our clients pretty well, but nothing beats seeing their machines at work; their staff in selling mode and their best promotional material doing the talking. Through experiencing this first hand, we can only get even better at understanding our clients and promoting their work.

The tone on the Show

Positive – reliably.

As usual, the show delivered.

Met with existing clients
Engaged with businesses within the industry
Helped buyers to streamline their purchasing process

So, I hit the road, but I came back. I’ll be spending the next few days tying up loose ends. If you did come and say hello to James, Steve or me – we will be in touch soon. Give us some time to have a cup of coffee and we’ll be picking up the phone or firing up emails to chat some more.

We hope to see you again next year.
