The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide in the widest sense - through providing technical advice and information, through influencing and interpreting legislation and standards and through its safety initiatives and training programmes.
For all those active in the powered access world, IPAF serves as a forum and has played a key role in the promotion of many design, safety and testing procedures that are now an integral part of the powered access industry.
It is a not-for-profit organisation owned by its members who include manufacturers, rental companies, distributors, contractors and users. IPAF members operate about 90% of the MEWP rental fleet in the UK and manufacture about 85% of platforms on the market.
IPAF Membership is open to users of platforms, manufacturers, distributors, rental and training companies.
Members enjoy access to practical information and a growing portfolio of member services. They also have the chance to influence the legislation and regulations that govern platform use.
IPAF membership can offer staff with over 100 years of experience working with some of the most renowned manufacturers in the rental industry and their industry expertise are at your disposal.
The IPAF training programme has been developed by leading professionals for platform operators and is certified by the international certification organisation TüV as conforming to ISO 18878.
More than 80,000 operators are trained each year through a worldwide network of over 450 IPAF-approved training centres. Successful trainees are awarded the PAL Card (Powered Access Licence), the most widely held and recognised proof of training for platform operators.
Our IPAF training is provided by approved training centres, mostly manufacturer and rental members of IPAF.
