We offer a wide range of Light Emitting Diodes from Opto Diode Corp., Lumex, The Fox Group and Sensor Electronic Technology covering the wavelength range 240 to 1550nm.
For convenience we have divided the range into UV, Visible and Near Infrared.
A large proportion of our LED business comes from customer-specific solutions optimised for individual applications. Optimisation can be anything from a simple tightening of the wavelength tolerance on a standard device through to a multi-wavelength solution with custom packaging and optics.
We supply laser diodes and laser systems from a range of manufacturers:-
QD Laser have a range of singlemode Fabry-Perot (FP) laser diodes from 640nm to 940nm. They also supply Distributed Feedback (DFB) lasers from 1030nm to 1240nm capable of CW and direct modulation in the nanosecond regime with Gain-Switched pulses as short as 20ps. QDL's proprietary Compact Visible Modules combine a NIR DFB/SOA semiconductor with waveguide-PPLN frequency-doubling to produce outputs of up to 50mW at 532nm, 561nm and 594nm - with a 488nm version under development. Finally QDL's Quantum Dot laser diode technology is capable of operating at up to 200°C ambient with no cooling!
LDX Optronics offer high power single emitter multimode laser diodes at standard wavelengths of 808, 940 and 980nm as well as “esoteric” wavelengths from 445nm to 1850nm. For higher optical outputs 1cm multi-emitter bars are offered. In many instances, where LDX do not already have the wavelength required they can develop bespoke diodes to meet customers’ requirements.
IMM Photonics supply a high power laser module based on LDX's range of single-emitter multimode laser diodes and also have a range of singelmode modules with optinos such as CW or analogue modulation and beam-shaping (lines, crosses, collimated etc.).
FiboTEC Fiberoptics offer single– and multi-channel Single-Frequency Laser Diode systems which combine 1529-1561nm very long coherence length External Cavity Laser Diodes drive and temperature control electronics and, where required, an EDFA.
For industrial applications FiboTEC produce turnkey solutions utilising high power laser diodes in combination with high modulation speed electronics and fibre management such as fibre-arrays.

AXUV-family: Electron, soft x-ray photon and radiation detectors giving best-of-class measurement capability. Opto Diode’s AXUV absolute detectors cover the 0.01nm to 190nm spectral range and can detect energy from 100eV to 50eV with 100% internal quantum efficiency.
SXUV- & UVG-family: These unique detectors are ideal for most critical measurements of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and ultraviolet (UV) light offering zero degradation in extreme UV exposure. They support a wide range of laser monitoring and UV measurement applications with stable responsivity over large temperature swings in the spectral range from 1nm to 400nm.
ODD-family: "Opto Diode Detector" silicon photodiodes are a range of high quality standard and custom silicon photodiodes intended for use in the 400nm to 1100nm range with options for visible-enhanced and NIR-enhanced versions. We have a large variety of standard devices featuring low dark current and low capacitance.
NXIR-family: The NXIR family of detectors from Opto Diode are designed specifically for back-facet laser-monitoring applications that require improved performance in the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum from 700 nm to 1100 nm. The affordable line of products provide high responsivity, high shunt resistance, low dark current, and low capacitance for greater performance.
ODA-family: A range of hybrid silicon photodiode/preamplifier devices available in standard amplifier gains from 100K to 500M and custom amplifier gains, if needed. Opto Diode also offers visible or near infrared enhanced versions.
We offer a range of Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) from SensL Technologies - the world's leading commercial supplier of SiPMs.
The SiPM is a large parallel array of “microcells” - each comprising a Geiger Mode single-photon-sensitive diode and a passive quenching resistor. Incident photons are detected by individual microcells which avalanche and release a fixed quantity of charge whilst the quenching resistor stems the avalanche and resets the microcell. The output of the SiPM is therefore the sum of the charge contributions from all of the microcells and is easily measured above the noise floor of following preamplification circuits.
SiPMs are optimised for low light sensing over a large area and are the ideal solution for OEMs striving to design portable, small and lower cost systems. They offer significant advantages over conventional low-light detectors such as vacuum PMTs, avalanche photodiodes and even silicon photodiodes.
We supply a range of Lead Sulphide (PbS) and Lead Selenide (PbSe) detectors and IR emitters from Opto Diode Corporation.
Lead Sulfide detectors are sensitive from 1µm to 3.1µm whilst Lead Selenide covers the range 1µm to 5µm. A range of uncooled and cooled single channel detectors are offered in both materials - the "A-Series" (PbS) and "B-Series" (PbSe).
PbSe 4-channel detectors are offered in uncooled and cooled versions under the "MCD-Series" with the option of integrated optical filters allowing simultaneous measurement of multiple materials and gases such as CO, CO2 and various hydrocarbons. The 4 detectors are a single semiconductor chip enabling accurate placement and uniform characteristics while the integrated spectral filters are mounted in holders designed to minimise optical crosstalk between detector channels.
ODC's thermal infrared sources are offered in Steady State "SA-Series" and High Output Low Cost Steady State "SHA-Series" based on a coiled filament design. ODC also supply ultra-thin metallic foil Pulsable emitters "SVF-Series" and the Fast Pulsable "SPF-Series". To ease integration of their fast pulsable IR sources Opto Diode also offer the PIREPLUS high output IR emitter with integrated drive electronics.
We supply Vertilon’s line of charge integrating and photon counting data acquisition products.
Vertilon’s PhotoniQ products seamlessly interface to a variety of single and multi-element, charge-based sensors such as silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs or MPPCs), vacuum photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), photodiodes and avalanche photodiodes (APDs) and have been used throughout the world by leading universities, government laboratories and corporate R&D groups in applications that include particle physics, flow cytometry, bioaerosol detection, SPECT, positron emission tomography (PET), gamma cameras, and confocal microscopy.
In a typical application the user-supplied sensor is plugged into a Vertilon sensor interface board (SIB) mounted to the user's optical bench. The outputs from the SIB connect using a SIB cable to a Vertilon PhotoniQ multi-channel data acquisition system.
Alternatively, Vertilon's PhotoniQ expandable systems allow the user to connect up to 8 single element devices directly to the front panel of the unit.
Data from optical events is captured and processed by the PhotoniQ which outputs the resulting event data over a USB 2.0 interface to a PC.
Triggering modes include continuous and edge-triggered event capture as well as more sophisticated modes such as event driven and pre-triggering.
Two user-selectable data acquisition modes are optimised for data collection of random events as in particle analysis applications, and continuous events as in scanned imaging applications. User-defined discrimination functions can be employed to reduce the data set to contain only the events of interest.
The standard graphical user interface and USB drivers supplied with the PhotoniQ are used to view events in real time or log them to disk. Alternatively, the GUI can be bypassed entirely such that the event data can be fed directly to a user's custom application.

AUREA Technology have developed a new generation of Geiger Mode InGaAs avalanche photodiode detector covering the 900nm to 1700nm range. AUREA offer compact benchtop systems optimised for different wavelength ranges with options such as dual detectors and Time Correlation (TCSPC).
AUREA are now offering visible wavelength versions of their photon counting systems based upon industry-leading silicon avalanche photodiodes used in Geiger-mode.
AUREA's flexible 2-channel product platform allows various detector combinations - Si/Si, Si/InGaAs and InGaAs/InGaAs giving users a common interface and readout - greatly simplifying the practical considerations of setting up and running photon counting experiments.
Further simplification can be achieved by using AUREA's self-contained high brightness Entangled Photon Pairs Source.
SensL Technologies offer a high speed 4-channel Time-to-Digital Converter with 27pS resolution (HRM-TDC) and a 2-channel Constant Fraction Discriminator (HRM-CFD) which can be used with any photon counting detector. These are ideal for customers who already own photon counting detectors.
We offer of Liquid Crystal based optical components from LC-Tec Displays AB of Borlänge, Sweden.
A range of Fast Optical Shutter (FOS) devices can replace conventional mechanical shutters with compact, vibration-free low profile devcies with no moving parts and high reliability. LCT's PolarSpeed® FOS offers extremely high speed operation with 30µs opening AND closing - others FOS versions include Extended Temperature Range, Contrast Enhanced and Near Infrared.
LCT's polarisation control products incldue a range of Fast Polarisation Modulator (FPM) technology capable of switching the polarisation of transmitted light between 0°, 45°, 90° and 135° and Variable Polarisation Rotators which rotate linearly polarised light at any angle from 0-90°. As with the FOS products a range of devcies are offered - each optimised for a particular characteristic or operating mode.
Finally LCT are developnig a range of filter products based on LC technology. The first commercially available device is a variable Neutral Density Filter (PolarViewND®(212)-AR designed for a flat spectral response together with flat off-axis transmission and low colour shift. LCT are also developing Switchable and Tuneable Colour filters based on traditional Solc and Lyot filter designs but replacing fixed retarder plates with liquid crystal cells acting as variable retarders.
We offer a range of fibreoptic solutions from FiboTEC Fiberoptics and IMM Photonics.
FiboTEC's range includes Broadband ASE sources; Erbium-Doped Fibre Amplifiers; Pulsed Fibre-Amplifier MOPA systems; Correlation OTDR-based fibre fault locators; high dynamic range dB meters and a range of high performance single frequency laser diodes and laser diode drivers.
IMM supply a wide range of optical fibre components and assemblies; bi-directional modules and visible laser fibre fault locators.
