We were established in the U.K. in 1966 as the sales and service operation of Telonic Industries Incorporated, a U.S. company specialising in R.F. products. In 1976 we became the U.K. distributor for Kikusui Electronics Corporation of Japan.

In 1978 The Celesco Diesel Engine Smoke Meter manufactured by the newly name Telonic Berkeley U.S was added to our product range. In 1982 following a management buy out we became an independent company, but continued to sell Telonic Industries products.

The Kikusui PMR Series is a multi-output, constant voltage/constant current regulated programmable DC bench power supply range  with  dual-tracking function. A Series regulator system is used to generate stable outputs with low noise. It is also compatible with various external controls. For GPIB control (in combination with an optionally available PIA4830), it is provided with the TP-BUS that allows a system to be built by simple connections.

The PAS Series includes sophisticated variable-switching programmable DC bench power supplies that refine and add to the advances of the PAK-A Series. The cabinet size remains unchanged but the PAS Series incorporates a high-efficiency switching circuit and a power-factor correction circuit to meet current demands. The PAN-A Series is a high-performance, highly reliable DC bench power supply unit featuring regulated variable voltage. These units are suitable for use in a range of fields including research and development, quality control, and production. The PAN-A Series consists of a pre-regulator using FETs and a Series regulator using power transistors, providing the high-quality output characteristic of the latter as well as the low power-source harmonic distortion of choke input type phase control. To achieve the high reliability and safety, components of sufficient derating and long-proven mounting techniques are used throughout. The PWR Series offers 80V 320V 650V constant voltage (CV)/constant current (CC) automatic crossover DC bench power supplies that enable you to combine a wide range of voltages and currents within the output power rating. For example, the model that has an output power rating of 1600W (PWR1600L) provides a seamless operation range from 80 V - 20 A to 16V - 100A. With a single PWR Series power supply alone, you can cover an extensive output range equivalent to what is provided by three to six conventional single range DC power supplies. L type can output up to 160% of the output current rating (in the continuous and intermittent extended operation areas). PWR1600L supports a maximum output of 10 V - 160 A.

The Programmable DCS Family of 1 kW, 1.2 kW and 3* kW programmable power supplies utilizes unique packaging techniques to achieve continuous full output power (1 kW, 1.2 kW or 3* kW) in any volt/amp combination within the rated output voltage and current limits in a low profile chassis. Demonstrated large installed base over a long period of time, the DCS family provides a highly reliable power platform.

The Programmable DCS Power Supplies have an easy-to-use front panel with 10-turn potentiometers to adjust voltage and current settings that are displayed simultaneously. LEDs indicate overtemperature, remote programming, shutdown and over voltage protection, status and constant-voltage/current mode operation. The DCS 3 kW Models have push button control of the output standby mode, OVP reset, remote/local programming and preview status of voltage, current and OVP setpoints.

The Programmable DCS Power Supplies can also be controlled remotely. Four analogue control modes are standard as well as isolated analog control (option). Computer control can be accomplished over IEEE488.2 GPIB (option) or LXI-compliant Ethernet (option)

* The 3kW must be limited to 2.5kW for 230Vac single phase input, 3 phase input is 208Vac only.

Outline

The Kikusui PAT-T Series is a constant voltage/constant current, auto-shifting, switching High Power DC power supply. It features a soft switching system that offers greater efficiency and lower noise. At the same time, it makes full use of high-density packaging technology to reduce the unit’s size and weight.
The chassis is the standard rack width (430 mm), and is about 130 mm (3U) high and 550 mm deep. The output power is 8 kW. Compared to series regulated products of the same capacity, it is about 1/6 the volume and 1/7 the weight. While offering a high output of 8 kW despite its small cabinet size, it also features a “power factor correction circuit.” With a high power factor of 0.95, it improves the power environment (suppresses harmonic currents) and also greatly contributes to "energy saving," as exemplified by its simplified and miniaturized power reception and distribution modules, and overall lower power consumption.
Furthermore, an optimized heat radiation design will make operation guaranteed at ambient temperatures of up to 50 °C. It can thus be deployed in demanding applications where it must provide full-load, continuous operation despite high ambient temperatures. The layout of the operation/display panel is simple and intuitive and has been designed with viewability and usability in mind.
An RS-232C interface is provided as standard together with external analog control, monitor output, and status output connectors, enabling control from an external computer or sequencer. In addition, GPIB or USB interface can be equipped as a factory option. The unit can either be used in a standalone configuration or can be incorporated into a test system.

Magna-Power Electronics MT SERIES combines the best of dc power processing with multiprocessor embedded control. A combination of high and medium frequency power processing technologies improves response, shrinks package size, and reduces cost. MT SERIES power supplies are current fed and are more tolerant to abusive loads than conventional switching power supplies.

MT SERIES power supplies offer both master/slave parallel and series operation. This enables two or more power supplies to be placed in parallel for increased output current or in series for increased output voltage. With master/slave operation, power supplies operate at near equal voltage and current.

MT SERIES power supplies can be configured through the front panel for different applications. The power supply can be programmed to have its control functions accessible from the front panel, rear connector, or through RS232, optional IEEE-488, or optional Ethernet communications. Sensing can be established at the output terminal of the power supply or through a rear terminal block for sensing at the load. An external interlock can be set to enable operation only when an external connection is made. Even calibration has been simplified with front panel access to calibration digital potentiometers.

MT SERIES power supplies incorporate an optically isolated feedback system. The result is that all user interface circuitry is referenced to earth ground -- not the negative terminal of the power supply. This enables users to connect external circuitry without concern of ground loops or voltage breakdown.

Outline

The Kikusui PCR-M Series is a small-size AC power supply with the ease of a variable auto transformer or an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) and the usefulness of a multifunctional AC power supply. As the PWM inverter method is adopted for the power unit, the PCR-M Series is much smaller and lighter than the predecessors while enabling high-quality and highly-efficient operation. This power supply comes with measurement functions, memory function, protection functions and various communication interface options, and it is even possible to provide DC power. When you incorporate an optional analog interface board (EXO4-PCR-M), the PCR-M Series can also be used as a booster for arbitrary signal generator. This small and versatile unit can provide you with more work styles than you can imagine. You can't do without it once you use it!

The PCR-LA Series is the most advanced, with having polished multifunctional AC power supply device of our best selling AC power supply PCR-L Series. # Compact, lightweight body
The electronic load system is as wide as a 19-inch rack with a height of 3U. Weighing about 11 kg when configured for three channels or about 17 kg when configured for five channels, the system is compact, lightweight and space-saving.
# High-speed response
In constant current mode, the electronic load is capable of offering high-speed response at a slew rate of 2.4 A/¿ s at the rising and falling edges of the current (equivalent to about 10 ¿ s when converted to the rise and fall times; in the case of PLZ150U).
# High precision and high resolution
The built-in three-range configuration provides both wide dynamic range and high precision. The voltmeter, ammeter and wattmeter functions that display values using up to five digits each and a minimum setting resolution of either 10 ¿A (PLZ70UA) or 20 ¿A (PLZ150U) are implemented.
# Variable slew rate
In constant current or constant resistance mode, the slew rate can be changed continuously.
# 0(Zero)V input
The PLZ70UA model operates even when the input operating voltage is 0(Zero)V.
# Multi-channel system
PLZ-50F may be configured with up to five channels, and PLZ-30F may be configured with up to three channels. Isolated from each other, the channels can operate both independently and in synchronization. Different models of load units (PLZ150U and PLZ70UA) can be housed in a single frame.
# Frame control
You can connect two or more frames and use one of them to control the others (up to five frames can be connected at a time). This enables you to turn on or off the load and call preset values.

Outline

The current trend in semiconductors is towards lower voltages and higher speeds. This trend places similar demands on both the components of semiconductor power units, such as switching power supplies, batteries and DC/DC converters, and also on the electronic loads used for testing. Also, a growing number of users with a need for multiple-output power units and easy channel reconfiguration are calling for plug-in type electronic loads that can be easily configured to support multiple channels. The advent of an electronic load system that satisfies all these needs has been long awaited. It was against this background that we developed the PLZ-U Series of electronic loads.
The PLZ-U Series of compact and high-performance modular electronic loads is capable of operating in five modes: constant current, constant resistance, constant voltage, constant current + constant voltage, and constant resistance + constant voltage. The load system consists of load modules and a frame. The load modules are inserted into the frame that also serves as a control unit. The PLZ-30F frame can accommodate up to three load modules, while the PLZ-50F frame can accommodate up to five. The load modules can be operated in parallel, so that the current capacity or power capacity can be changed easily, from 75 to 750 watts*1, as needed for the device under test. In addition to offering high-speed response at a maximum slew rate of 2.4 A/ ¿s*2 and a minimum setting resolution of 10 ¿ A*3, the system features a variety of functions including soft start, variable slew rate, a switching function, ABC preset memory function, four setup memories, and a sequence function. What's more, timer functions combined with time/voltage measurement functions allow you to measure battery discharge characteristics.
For communication, the system is provided with GPIB and RS-232C interfaces as standard. Both interfaces support IEEE 488.2 as well as the Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI) commands, developed for testing and measuring instruments.

# High-speed response and variable slew-rate
With PLZ-4W series, a faster response of rise/fall time as calculated conversion value with 10 ¿s is made possible, enabling a transient response test for the direct current and accurate reproduction of a simulation waveform as a dummy load. In addition, it also can be set with a slew rate (A/¿s ). As for the setting value, it can be varied continuously, and be possible to optimize transient control for voltage drops due to wiring inductance, constant-voltage power supply, etc., when the load current is switched on.
# 0(Zero)V input
The 164WA and 664WA of PLZ-4W series permit a load input up to the rated current even when the Input Voltage is set for 0(Zero)V.
# Sequence function
Sequence patterns set as you requested can be saved in the built-in memory. In the sequence program, 10 normal sequences and 1 first sequence can be saved. 256 steps of normal sequences, and 1024 steps of the first sequence can be saved in each program.
# Convenient function for discharging test of cells
The PLZ4W can measure the time from load-on to load-off. When combined with under voltage protection (UVP) function, the time from when the battery discharge is started until the battery voltage falls to the cutoff voltage can be measured. Also, you can set the timer so it will load-off automatically after a specified time elapses from load-on mode. Once this timer is set, the input voltage value immediately before load-off is displayed, so it is possible to measure the closed circuit voltage after a specified time elapses from the start of discharging battery.
# Booster unit PLZ2004WB
To achieve a large capacity system at low cost, the PLZ1004W has an expandable option PLZ2004WB as a booster unit. Using 1 PLZ1004W as a master unit, a maximum of 4 booster units can be parallel connected. (Max. 9kW, 1800A) Note: PLZ2004WB(Booster unit) can be used for the PLZ1004W only. It cannot be connected and used with any other model.
# Parallel operation
Under parallel operation, the same model can be parallel connected to a maximum of 5 units when booster unit is not used. (Max. 5kW, 1000A)
# Various Functions
The PLZ-4W Series has equipped with all the same functions of its former type of the PLZ-3W Series, such as the Soft-start Function, Lock Function, Short Function, ABC Memory Function, Set-up Memory Function, Switching Functions, etc.

Terms

  1. Equipment must be operated in accordance with the instructions and specifications in the operating manual. Telonic should be informed of any apparent fault.
  2. Hire terms are weekly or four weekly and there is a minimum hire period of 2 weeks if the total rental is less than £100.
  3. The hire period is from the date the equipment is delivered to the hirer's site until the date it is received back at Telonic Instruments, Wokingham. If the hirer wishes to extend the period of hire, the hirer should contact Telonic at least 3 working days before the end of the initial agreed hire period.
  4. Delivery to the hirer is by next day road service in the UK. This will vary for EU destinations.
  5. Hire charges will continue to accrue until the working day before the equipment is received by Telonic, or, if Telonic have agreed to collect the goods the day on which Telonic collects.
  6. Terms are nett 30 days from invoice date in respect of approved accounts, otherwise payment in full is required for the agreed hire period prior to delivery.
  7. Return of the equipments is the responsibility of the hirer. We request all original packaging is retained for use in returning the equiment.
  8. During the period of hire, the hirer is responsible for insurance to cover loss or damage whilst the hired unit is in their possession. If the equipment or accessories are irreparably damaged or lost, the hire period continues until the full cost of a replacement is paid to Telonic. If the equipment is damaged by accident or misuse whilst in the possession of the hirer, but is repairable, the cost of the repair, plus hire charges for the time taken for the repair, are payable to Telonic.
  9. In the case of equipment arriving damaged Telonic should be informed immediatley and in any case no later than two days from receipt.
  10. Telonic reserves the right to terminate the hire and to recover the equipment at the expense of the hirer if Telonic believes the hirer may be unable to meet its payment or other obligations to Telonic.
  11. If a purchase order is placed for equipment of the same type as hired within 30 days of the end of the hire period, we will rebate 50% of the invoiced rental cost to a maximum of one (1) weeks rental.
