Vertical Blinds

Vertical Blinds

Vertical Blinds are the most versatile type of window covering, and they are very economical. This is especially true when you are trying to cover a large expanse.

They make great side blinds for a conservatory and you can completely control your privacy whilst still letting in the light

Pros...

  • Most versatile window covering
  • Large choice of pattern and plain fabrics
  • Can maintain privacy but still allow light to enter
  • Very economical to cover large areas

Cons...

  • Beware of control cords and chains hanging down when small children are around
  • Takes up the window sill, leaving no room for ornaments
  • Too much choice!

Roller Blinds

Roller Blinds

Roller Blinds are one of the most basic blinds that offers a clean finish.

Roller blinds have gone through a bit of a make over with new developments such as “soft raise” which will allow the blind to raise as if by magic, avoiding all those hanging chains.

Lots of patterns and modern fabrics are available in our new range.

Pros...

  • Very easy to use - choice of control options
  • Clean lines
  • Great blackout option for bedrooms
  • Different shapes available to finish the bottom of the blind

 Cons...

  • Spring loaded mechanism can be difficult to control - so opt for chain for “soft raise” options
  • Not good at controlling the light coming into a room, roller blinds are basically up or down

Venetian Blinds

Conservatory Blinds and Patio Awnings

Conservatory Blinds and Patio Awnings

Your conservatory is probably too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

Even if it isn’t actually that cold the large expanse of glass can make it appear colder than it is, and the glare in summer can be blinding.

Even with specialist glass treatments conservatories can be hot, and you’ll still need blinds for privacy anyway.

During the summer months what can be better to sit under a patio awning sipping a cool drink?

With light boxes now available, you can also get full use of your awning into the night to extend those summer evenings even further.

An awning truly makes your patio another “room” during the warmer weather.

Shutters provide privacy, style and light control. Unlike curtains they can be tailored to fit almost any shape of window perfectly. They are versatile and can be manufactured to the full window height or mounted ‘tier on tier’ to create frames within frames. Or, with particularly tall windows, or windows surmounted with stained glass panes, the classic café style may be chosen to leave the uppermost glazing exposed, maximising light whilst providing privacy.

To ensure that our products keep looking good and give a lifetime’s satisfaction, we apply no less than six coats of stain or paint to the shutters, before your order is carefully despatched for installation in your home.

Finishing - Quality Control

Each and every ShutterCraft shutter is made to your specifications. It is crafted and quality checked by craftsmen in our state-of-the-art production facility.

We engineer our shutters to counteract the timber’s natural tendency to twist with the grain. It's more work, but it ensures the shutters are truly balanced. With our years of experience, we know this is the best way to prevent the warping and distortion which can arise in shutters manufactured without using this advanced process.

To ensure that ShutterCraft products keep looking good and give a lifetime’s satisfaction, we apply no less than six coats of stain or paint to the shutters, before your order is carefully despatched for installation in your home.
