AR Series

(AR AC) High-Efficiency Closed Loop with Integrated Controller 0.0036°-0.72° (FLEX)

  • Maintains Operation Even During Abrupt Load Fluctuations and Accelerations: The AR Series uses our closed loop control to maintain positioning operation even during abrupt  load fluctuations and accelerations. The rotor position detection sensor monitors the rotation. When an overload condition is detected, the AR Series will instantaneously regain control using the closed loop mode.
  • Alarm Signal Output in Case of Abnormality: If an overload is applied continuously, an alarm signal is output. When the positioning is complete, an END signal is output. This ensures the same level of reliability achieved by a servo motor.
  • Rotor Position Detection Sensor: The rotor position detection sensor uses the change in inductance caused by change in the distance between the stator teeth and the teeth on the sensor rotor to detect rotor position.
  • Lower Heat Generation: The AR Series utilizes high-efficiency technology to achieve a significant reduction in the amount of heat generated from the motor.

  • Slim and Compact: This new driver has been created by re-arranging the internal components, optimizing the usage of the size within the driver. In addition, drivers can be installed side by side, reducing a significant amount of space.
  • Reduces power consumption by up to 47%: By optimizing the motor material, 47% of the power consumption has been reduced. This results in the decrease of electricity and CO2 emission. In addition, with lower heat generated by the motor, there is a lesser requirement of fans or radiation plate.
  • Lower Heat Generation: By utilizing high-efficient technology, continuous operation is achieved due to the reduction of motor heat.

This series is a motor and driver package product that combines a high-performance, 5-phase stepping motor with a compact and low-vibration microstep driver. The line-up consists of a Built-In Controller Package or a Pulse Input Package.

Low Vibration and Noise Reduction

  • Achieved by Microstepping: The basic step angle of the motor can be divided into a maximum of 250 microstep angles without using any mechanical element such as a reduction gear. As a result, vibration and noise are further reduced.
  • Smooth Drive Function for Enhanced Ease of Use: This function automatically controls motion via microstepping at the same travel amount and speed used in the full-step mode.

 

Wide Variety of Motors

  • High-Resolution Motor: The High-Resolution type achieves high accuracy and reliability based on Oriental Motor's latest precision machining technology. The motor resolution is increased to double the level of a standard model to reduce the displacement angle against load torque, thereby achieve high positioning accuracy. Vibration is also reduced.
  • High-Torque Motors: The high-resolution type and high-torque type adopt a newly designed high-torque motor that widens the range of applications. The smaller motor allows for compact equipment design. The motor current is reduced to suppress heat generation.
  • High-Speed Specification Motors: The high-speed specification type has high torque up to the high-speed rotation range, so positioning operations using the high-speed rotation range are possible. As a result, the positioning operation time can be reduced.
  • Encoder Type Motors: Built-in controller types use encoder type motors, making it possible to detect positional errors. This contributes to even better equipment reliability.
  • Motor with Electromagnetic Brake: This type is combined with a power off activated type electromagnetic brake. When the power is accidentally cut off due to a power outage or another unexpected event, the electromagnetic brake holds the load in position to prevent it from dropping or moving.

  • Wear Prevention: A roller mechanism is used to prevent stainless sheet wear. The roller mechanism suppresses dust generation caused by the sliding of the stainless sheet and the table. A roller mechanism is used to prevent stainless sheet wear.
  • Sensorless High-Speed Return-to-Home Operation max 100mm/s: We have developed a dedicated topper to achieve the sensorless return-to-home operation at a maximum speed of 100 mm/s. Once the motor detects table contact with the stopper, it will perform the return-to-home operation at 6 mm/s.
  • Easy Wiring: The linear slide and controller are connected via a single cable, and the wiring distance can be extended to a maximum of 20m. The cable is fitted with a connector for quick connection.
  • Traveling Parallelism 0.03 mm: A traveling parallelism of 0.03 mm is achieved by the direct installation of the guide on the mounting surface.
  • Vibration Suppression Function: The newly developed control method achieves low vibration even at the speed range where large vibration occurs normally.
  • Maintenance-Free for Long-Term Performance: The ball screw employs the QZ lubrication system, while the LM Guide uses the Ball Retainer to retain the coupled rolling elements. The ball screw and LM Guide use AFF grease with reduced dust-raising properties, which is designed for use in clean rooms.

The linear actuators are a combination of a stepping motor and a ball screw. They are ideally suited for pushing and pulling small workpieces or for applications related to fine adjustment.

 

DRS Series


DRS Series

These compact motorised linear actuators are integrally designed with a stepping motor adopting @STEP technology and a linear motion mechanism. They achieve high-resolution, highly accurate multi-point positioning and variable speed operation, while saving installation space.

  • Incorporating Stepping Motor STEP Technology: Incorporating stepping motor technology, these models can maintain positioning operation even during abrupt load fluctuations and accelerations. The rotor position detection sensor monitors the rotation speed and amount. When an overload condition is detected, it will instantaneously regain control using the closed loop mode. When an overload condition continues it will output an alarm signal, thereby providing reliability equal to that of a servo motor.
  • Adopting High Rigidity Guides (Guide type only): High rigidity guide, utilising the actuator width at a maximum, is adopted. The high transportable mass and high load moment allow the load to be installed directly on the joint. The joint also has mounting holes for installing a load. The standard type (without a guide) is also available. (for the standard type, a ball screw anti-spin mechanism must be provided).
  • Compact Size by Integrated Design: The hollow rotor and ball screw nut have been integrated. Since no connecting parts are necessary, the compact, high-accuracy mechanism can be used with ease.
  • High Precision Linear Actuators with integrated Controller – DRLII Series (FLEX)
  • Significantly Reduced Man-Hours and Time Required for Design: The compact body houses the entire linear motion mechanism. The use of conventional internally-produced parts is no longer required, thus reducing the time for equipment design and parts selection. Moreover, this reduces the time required for assembly and installation accuracy adjustment and increases your production efficiency.
  • More Compact and Lightweight Equipment: A structure with a hollowed-out rotor is featured, with the ball screw stored inside. Since the coupling, ball screw bearing, and other parts you provide yourself are no longer required, a more compact and lightweight equipment is achieved.
  • Reasonable Price: While achieving significant improvements in performance, the actuator is offered at a reasonable price.
  • High Positioning Accuracy: The ball screw nut is linked with the hollow rotor. Through the coupling rigidity and other aspects of parts combination, the impact of backlash has been minimized, achieving high-precision positioning.
  • A stepper motor is used that stops immediately and without vibration: The DRL Series uses stepper motors. Because this is a stepper motor, the positioning precision per step is high and the motor can be moved forward and back accurately. Also, since the fine movement of the shaft (called hunting) does not occur when stopping, the stop position can be held correctly.

Adopting a rack and pinion mechanism and a closed loop stepping motor @STEP, the LAS Series achieves high positioning accuracy and high thrust force. It is a high-speed, high-thrust linear motor capable of implementing such operations as "push, pull, lift and lower" in limited space.

  • Adopting for Greater Reliability: The LAS Series can acquire additional information, such as positioning completion signals and alarm signals, to achieve greater reliability.
  • Horizontal and Vertical Operations at Will: Adopting @STEP as its drive motor, the LAS Series can easily meet various linear motion needs, such as speed adjustment and multi-point positioning.
  • Ideal for Vertical Operation: Since an alarm signal is output in the event of an overload
  • condition or malfunction, the LAS Series can be reliably used in vertical operation. Use of an electromagnetic brake type is recommended for vertical operation.
  • Easy Setting of Travel Distance: @STEP enables you to set flexible movement distances by setting the number of pulses for the controller (pulse generator).
