Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE) offers a range of high performance elastomer seals for critical sealing applications for the food & dairy, pharmaceutical, chemical processing, oil & gas, marine diesel engines & power generation, aerospace, defence and semiconductor industries.

PPE moulds O-rings and custom shaped components from high performance elastomers including silicone, FKM, HNBR, Nitrile, EPDM, and Perlast Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM).  Many of these meet various international approvals and conformance requirements (eg. FDA, USP Class VI, 3A, NES337, Explosive Decompression, etc)

PPE offers the highest level of service and responsiveness with some of the shortest manufacturing lead-times in the industry.  Independent testing and analysis, technical design and consultancy service also available.

O-rings

PPE manufactures and supplies CNC machined and fully molded elastomer O-rings from 1.5mm (0.06") to 2.5 metres (8ft) outer diameter. All of the rubber O-rings that we manufacture are available in both small quantities and large volumes.

Standard and non-standard O-ring sizes
We hold a comprehensive range of standard O-ring moulds to BS1806, BS4518, AS568 and ISO3601. For non-standard custom O-rings we can manufacture any size as all our tooling is designed and manufactured in-house using the latest CAD and CNC machine techniques.

Perlast FFKM

PPE offers the Perlast® range of high performance perfluoroelastomer materials (FFKM).

Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) is the most chemically resistant elastomer available and is effectively a rubber form of PTFE. Perlast® perfluoroelastomer grades provide other properties which prove most valuable in critical sealing applications where purity, high temperatures and retention of sealing force are paramount.

The Perlast® range of perfluoroelastomer materials are at the leading edge of polymer technology. They have been developed to offer superior sealing solutions with enhanced performance and improved functionality, which is proven in the field (see case studies).

EnDura Oilfield Elastomers

The EnDura® range of elite materials has been specifically developed for use in downhole, surface and subsea oilfield equipment and offers explosive decompression (ED) resistance.  The range includes unique material grades that provide the ultimate in chemical resistance, mechanical properties and low/high temperature capabilities for demanding sealing applications.

  • EnDura® materials tested to Norsok M-710, Total GS PVV 142 03/01, NACE TM0297 (ED) & TM0187 (Sour Gas) standards.
  • Excellent high pressure, high temperature (HPHT) performance upto +327°C (+620°F). 
  • Superior low temperature capability from -46°C (-51°F).
  • Outstanding chemical resistance to methanol, sour gas (H2S), hot water, steam and oils.
  • Excellent mechanical properties provide long-term sealing capability and improved leak prevention thereby minimising equipment failure.


 

EnDura Oilfield Elastomers

The latest advance in contamination detection and containment

PPE has worked closely with leading industrial organisations to develop an exciting new range of metal detectable elastomer compounds designed specifically to meet the stringent demands of the pharmaceutical and food processing industries.

The new DETECTASEAL® range includes FDA compliant grades of EPDM, Nitrile, Silicone and Fluorocarbon (FKM) compounds.

Available in blue and black, DETECTASEAL® O-rings have been tested and proven in use at leading pharmaceutical and food manufacturing plants. Fragments of DETECTASEAL® as small as 2mm can be identified by in-line metal detection equipment in process lines.

Sanitary Gaskets & Hygienic Seals

The HyClamp™ range of hygienic pipe gaskets/seals from PPE is specifically designed to meet the needs of pipe coupling and pipe clamps in food, beverage and pharmaceutical process lines.

Engineered to deliver optimal chemical resistance to meet the requirements of aseptic conditions, CIP (clean-in-place) and SIP (sterilization-in-place) processes, HyClamp™ pipe gaskets/seals provide excellent long-term sealing performance, therefore extending planned maintenance intervals and minimizing downtime.

HyClamp™ gaskets are manufactured to several size standards of pipe clamps (BS4825, ISO2852 and DIN32676 as lipped or unlipped gaskets) and are supplied with full manufacturing batch traceability and certificates of conformity on request.

Our complete range of hygienic gaskets/seals also includes: DIN 11864 O-rings, RJT O-rings, IDF seals, DIN 11851 D-seals and SMS seals (SS 1149).

Chevron Stacks

Here at Precision Polymer Engineering, we can provide vee packaing (V-packing) sets manufactured from our recommended range of high performance elastomers, PTFE and PEEK.

Chevron stack or Vee Packing sets, comprise of one or more rings within a profile of a V-shape. These rings are positioned between male and female adapters located at the top and bottom, forming a multi-lip packing suitable for mechanically challenging conditions in rod and piston locations.

Diaphragms

Through innovative design and materials, we can develop custom diaphragms and membranes which perform reliably in a wide range of applications.

Our material scientists and engineers take many factors into consideration when designing the optimal diaphragm for an application. These include pressures, temperatures, expected mechanical stresses, chemical media,  and the desired lifespan of the sealing element.

End-effector Pads

High purity, Kimura® and Perlast® materials are widely used in wafer handling applications as end-effector pads as they provide optimized friction to maintain wafer positional accuracy, and prevent particulation due to their wholly organic nature.
