Priority Industrial Supplies

At Priority Industrial Supplies we supply lots of different types of Bolts.

Bolts are used with Nuts and often with Washers. The three basic types are Hexagon Bolts, Coach Bolts and Machine Bolts. Other types include the Masonry Bolt and Anchor, Toggle Bolt and Expansion Bolt, which are used to distribute weight when fastening something to a hollow wall.

A HT Bolt is an externally threaded fastener designed for insertion through holes in assembled parts and is normally intended to be tightened or released by torquing a nut. A HT Set is merely a fully threaded Bolt.

A Coach Bolt has a mushroom head, but just below the head there is a square neck and then the threads. The square neck fits into a matching square hole to keep the bolt from moving.

We offer a range of different finishes.

Galvanised - In industry, electroplating is often the process used to galvanise steel products to create a longer lasting finsh as it is more efficient and more cost effective that the Hot Dipping process. It is also easier to control. For instance, the thickness of the coating can be determined with greater accuracy which is important when coating threaded parts. Parts are electrically charged as negitive and are suspended in a conducting solution known as the electrolyte. The parts that are necatively charged are known as the cathode. Rods of pure zinc are positively charged and it is the zinc from these rods that is eventually deposited on the surface of the steel parts. The rods are suspended in the elecrolyte. A current passing through the electrolyte causes the zinc already in the solution to migrate towards the cathode (the steel parts). At the same time zinc from the anode (the zinc rods) passes into the electroltic solution.

Zinc Plated - Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finisg. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron ixide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrate's surface integrity as it formed. The Zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way simular to the protection afforded to aluminium and stainless steels by their oxide layers. Zinc plating is the most common, economy, electroplated coating which is normally applied to ferrous components to give enhanced corrosion protection. The relatively low cost, protective nature and attractive appearance of zinc make it a popular for nuts, bolts, washers, screws and simular interior components. In addition, zinc serves as an effective undercoat for paints when high corrosion performance is required.

Black/Self Colour - An 'as produced' finish on carbon steel products having an oil residue which provides some shelf life but no real corrosion protection when in use.
Today, less than 20% of carbon steel fasteners would be purchased plain finish.
Stainless steel, brass and other non-ferrous materials protect themselves through a reaction of the surface to oxygen, creating a protective chromium oxide film.

A4 Stainless Steel - A4 Type 316 is a higher grade of Stainless Steel more suitable for external Marine environments.

A2 Stainless Steel - A2 Type 304 can also be called 18/8 because it contains approximatley 18% Chromium and 8% Nickel. It is austenitic steel and is non-magnetic. The chromium provides a corrosion and oxidation resistance, although it may tarnish. It is immune to foodstuffs, sterilising solutions, most organic chemicals and dyestuffs and also a wide variety of inorganic chemicals. As such, it is used extensively for many types of fixings and fasteners used in sanitary or hygeine applications.

We stock standard sizes - M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, M14, M16, M18, M20, M22, M24, M27, M28, M30, M32, M33, M36.

Workwear

At Priority we offer a wide range of Workwear. Including Trousers, Polo Shirts, Fleeces, Warehosue Coats and more.

We also offer Personal Protection Equipment and Safety Footwear.

Here at Priority Industrial Supplies, we offer a wide variety of Protective/Safety Gloves. Our aim is to stock the correct type of glove for any situation. From standard household Rubber Gloves, Surgical type Vinyl Gloves to Heavy duty Builder Gloves. Hand lacerations are one of the most common injurys in any work environment. Having the correct glove for the job will reduce the chance of serious injury.

Washers

A washer is a thin plate (typically disc-shaped) with a hole (typically in the middle) that is normally used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener, such as a screw or nut. Other uses are as a spacer, spring (belleville washer, wave washer), wear pad, preload indicating device, locking device, and to reduce vibration (rubber washer). Washers usually have an outer diameter (OD) about twice the width of their inner diameter (ID).

Other washers we supply are Mudguard Washers and Red Fibre Washers.

Red Fibre Washers: For use on cable gland entry threads. To maintain ingress protection rating at the enclosure. Sealing washer for PG thread sizes available.

Hexagon Full Nuts

We supply a range of sizes of Hexagon Full nuts. In Bright Zinc Plated (BZP), A2 Stainless Steel & A4 Stainless steel.

We also supply Half Nuts and Wing Nuts, aswell as Dome Nuts and Nyloc Nuts. All available in different sizes and finishes.

Wing Nuts: Wingnut (hardware), a nut with a pair of wings to enable it to be turned without tools, used where frequent adjustments are needed or part removal can be made quickly at some later stage.

Nyloc Nuts: A nyloc nut, also known nylon insert lock nut, polymer insert lock nut or elastic stop nut (although incorrectly, as an elastic stop nut is broad class of locking nuts), is a kind of nut that includes a nylon collar insert. The insert is placed at the end of the nut and its inner diameter (ID) is slightly smaller than the major diameter of the screw. The insert deforms elastically over the threads of the screw, but threads are not cut into the nylon.

Studding

A threaded rod, also known as a stud, is a relatively long rod that is threaded on both ends; the thread may extend along the complete length of the rod. They are designed to be used in tension. Threaded rod in bar stock form is often called all-thread. Studs may have a drive slot in one end to facilitate installing the stud.

Available in BZP (Bright Zinc Plated), A2 Stainless Steel and A4 Stainless Steel.
