Condiments

A condiment is a sauce, spice or preparation that is added to foods to create a specific flavour or to enhance flavour or complement the dish. They can be stored in packaging, single-serving packing or in equipment that is refillable. Common catering condiments are packaged in single-serving packs, like mustard, tomato sauce, salad cream and mayonnaise. Other condiments that are available to the dinner can be served by bottles like teriyaki sauce, olive oil, vinegar and soy sauce. While salt and pepper can be stored in refillable salt and pepper holders. Condiments are commonly used in restaurants, pizzerias, school canteens, cafes, tea rooms, sandwich bars and hotels.
