Hobs are a form of popular cooking equipment because they put the user in control, allowing them to adjust temperatures quickly as and when required. Hobs are also known as cooktop, stovetops and burners and they commonly come in five types: Ceramic, solid-plate electric, gas, induction, and gas on glass. Hobs are used by domestically and by many sectors of the catering industry including restaurants, cafes, food vans and hotels.
